    Since I've never been accused of it or caught people talking about me that context, I'm going to say no. Personally I can't reliably tell about others, I know flamboyant guys that are completely straight, and even more gay guys, that most people would never suspect, who admit to having never even attempted to have sex with a woman.

    I agree with @Ieatcumholes, that it removed the last of my inhibitions. I was always a pretty big slut and had been topping mostly bareback for almost 20 years when I found out. I did not intentionally take a load in my own ass until after I was diagnosed. That said, if I had it to do all over again I would make a greater effort to stay negative and would have gotten tested and started prep as soon as it became available (assuming I was still negative). As it happened I found out I had stage 4 cancer a few days before I found out I was HIV positive, so it was many months between my diagnosis and the 1st time I took a load in my ass. I also have regrets about any guys I converted before I knew.     I've noticed a trend where guys insist on fucking standing up, and won't move even 6 inches from where the fuck was initiated. If you do decide to move even just enough that the bottom has something to lean up against or hang onto, move enough not to block traffic, or in a park move somewhere with decent cover to avoid potential arrest the fuck is over.     At least here, the hookup apps seem to be dying faster than the hookup venues.     @fskn How effective are our childhood smallpox vaccinations at preventing serious monkeypox disease? I tried to look up which vaccines were in common use in the US in 1970 (when I would have received mine), and their efficacy against monkeypox? Unfortunately I didn't have a lot of luck beyond that it was likely Dryvax manufactured by Wyeth. I haven't called my parents to have them check my vaccination records to see if I could get any more specifics (yes they do still have whatever was provided at the time). I do have the scar and know that my parents talk about insisting my youngest sibling get it in the mid 1970's after the smallpox vaccine was no longer mandatory. I just booked a trip for July to indulge my most hedonistic wants, and it has been a really long 2 and a half years since the last time I was able to make a trip like the one I have planned.

    I don't think there is a right answer. Guys where I live frequently ask how many loads I've taken, but don't fuck no matter what the answer.     From the sex standpoint, I don't think you want Florida to go the way of bright blue Oregon and Washington. Colorado is blue now, but it was bright red 20 years ago when I was living out my sexual fantasies there. Illinois is solid blue now, but was purple 30 years ago when I was living there. I wasn't going to the baths yet, but sex was easy to find. I've also lived in Dallas, in bright red Texas in the late 90's, not as good for gay sex as Illinois or Colorado, but not bad either. Based on my travels which is a little different because I am "fresh meat", I don't think the political climate of an area has that great of correlation to the availability of casual sex. If anything, it may be slightly easier to find in red areas.

    As far as actually hooking up and having sex Portland was much worse before the pandemic than it is now. Attendance at the bathhouse is still lower than it was before the pandemic, so I'm not sure what will happen when Hawks finally reopens, they may not both survive. On the other hand on the nights they do get a big crowd at Steam, the bath that has reopened, the activity level reverts to the prepandemic, let's hang out naked but not touch each other, norm.

    I moved there in '99. It was the Denver Swim Club, Midtowne and the Triple C. Good thing I tried the DSC and Midtown'e before I went to the Triple C, that place scared the hell out of me, I was there less than an hour before I left and went to Midtowne. I never went back. I don't remember when Buddies opened, I went to the grand opening and kept a membership at DSC, Midtowne and Buddies until I moved in '07.     So far only one of our 2 bathhouses here in Portland has reopened, but has not resumed 24/7 hours. The other was in the process of moving when the pandemic struck, and is still in the process of building out the new facility. On the upside, there is a lot more sex going on in the Portland bathhouse than there was before the pandemic, although by Denver standards is dead slow. @Oralguya1I haven't had a chance to go since the pandemic, but Buddies in Colorado Springs has reopened.
