Poppers definitely help a lot for this! I voted that it doesn't really matter to me either way, but really it depends on my mood and what I'm looking for when I'm bottoming. I'm probably what you'd call moderately hairy...I have a good covering of hair in all the usual places (chest/stomach, pubic hair, arms and legs, etc), but for the most part it's not overly thick. I don't think I'd go so far as to say barebacking is the norm, since that would suggest it's what the majority of people are doing. That being said, I think it's definitely seen a rise in popularity over the last few years or so.
