Poppers & Cialis?

So I've heard that poppers and cialis/viagra can be deadly when mixed together, but I've also heard that people mix the two together and are just fine. Does anyone have any experience using the two together? Can it be done safely? Is it ok as long as you don't add another stimulant like meth or ecstasy? Thanks.

I don't find cialis that effective, so use viagra instead. Whichever suits you, it's important to discuss dosage with your doctor. Guys taking protease inhibitors are normally prescribed half the normal dose with a warning that it's only for every other day use. Hypertension is something to watch for too. The textbooks say that ED drugs and poppers should never be combined because you're messing with your blood pressure and it could lead to heart attack or stroke.

I personally wouldn't add another non-prescribed drug into the mix. WHen my blood pressure was normal and I wasn't taking protease inhibitors (and when poppers really were amyl nitrite), I'd reckon on five good belts to get off my face and have the overwhelming urge to pig out. If you were going to try the combination I'd say to start and proceed slowly. I've always preferred to hold the bottle myself (to prevent accidents like I had earlier this year when I got half a bottle up one nostril - painful!) and take a lungful. Later on, if all seems well, two lungfuls. If I feel tempted to more than that I tend to drop the bottle out of the way so it can't be easily reached. I'd rather be slightly less shitfaced than I'd like to be than on a trolley being taken into an ambulance. But that's my own sense of self-preservation kicking in.

Poppers and ED drugs seemed to raise more eyebrows than most other sexual topics at seminars about HIV that I've attended this year. How much of this is down to "thou shalt not have fun" and how much is practical accidental overdose prevention I honestly don't know.

Sorry this isn't much of an answer, but I really don't think anyone actually does know the answer: there are so many factors to take into consideration, and the fact that we're talking about , you know, doing it, that I don't think anywhere near adequate research has been done and medical proclamations are issued on theoretical and anecdotal evidence. I've found it possible to mix the two, but at lower than average doses. Your mileage may vary...

I use poppers and cialis together all the time. Because of the HIV drugs I only need a small amount of cialis (10 mg) and I have strong erections for 48 hours. My doc, who prescribed it, calls it the "weekend" pill. I do go easy on the poppers though. Your body will let you know if you are doing too much (headache, dizziness). I also drink a lot of water. I don't mess around nor am I tempted to add other substances to the mix. And my advice would be buy the real cialis/Viagra (from a pharmacy) and not from people selling individual pills.

My bf can't handle the poppers and Viagra. But like I said it's never caused any problems for me. But I do it in moderation.

SO I tried it and I'm still here to tell the tale! Took a quarter of a Cialis and did about 8 hits of poppers over a 3 hour period and I was fine.

Next time you pick up your Viagra/Cialis/Levitra ask for the drug information sheet on the drug. It's all explained there. It really is incredibly dangerous. If you do poppers don't do pill form ED treatments (Caverject or TriMix + poppers should be fine).

RawTop is right here. If you don't believe Google believe an MD like me. Poppers are mostly nitrates and nitrites, powerful vasodilators meaning they relax the smooth muscle in your arteries. The euphoric effects of them have nothing to do with this property but they can relax the anal spinster in some guys

Viagra and Cialis work in a different way to do the same thing- vasodilation. They are theoretically more specific to smooth muscle in the arteries of the penis. But they aren't that exact in the end which is why you have other vasodilator effects such as flushing and headaches as side effects in some folks.

But two different vasodilators in your system at the same time and your asking for trouble in the form of sudden cardiac death. Dies it happen every or most times people combine them? No. But it happens. There have been thousands of documented deaths from these medication. Studies suggest that the majority of these were not in the elderly or those with known heart problems but young otherwise healthy men. Poppers are typically the deciding factor in these cases.

Meth is a vasoconstrictor. So you're chem induced death or disability will likely still be due to cardiac reasons but not because you're blood pressure bottomed out.

I guess I'll have to be guilty of wanting my cake and eating it too. I am often at bareback sex parties where I top and bottom. I like the cialis so I'm always ready to top and the poppers so I'm always ready to bottom. Yes, I do think you have to be extremely careful with the combo. No doubt about that. I wouldn't dream of taking a large dose of either.

But I'll ask my own doctor when I see him in a few weeks and report back. I'm also curious about the effects of alcohol consumption too.

It takes a lot to scare me these days. I recall being very afraid when I first seroconverted about taking loads from other poz guys for fear of superinfection. When I asked my doctor about this (and he is one of the world's leading HIV specialists), he leaned back in his chair and laughed. A lot of things in this life are possible, but the real question is are they probable.

I have taken Viagra and poppers and yes it is dangerous. Yes I am stupid. Problem. I cannot get an erection without Viagra. I cannot get horny without poppers. Solution? I have blacked out before and yes it is stupid. But how do I combine the two. Nothing else seems to work. I do make sure though that I have ALOT of water and also Gatorade and Powerade and no alcohol and very a low dose of Viagra. Quarter of a tablet at most. STILL I am here to say DONT DO This. I asked my doctor about this. He said it's not advisable but he did not sound the alarm bells.
