If you have to or want to ask, then maybe you shouldn't be bare backing. If you are worried about contracting HIV, then you can protect yourself by going on prep....

It really isn't an issue these days ....

Even though I'm undetectable, I always disclose before a hookup.  It's a different story at bathhouse or a bareback sex party, where I assume guys don't care about status.

Main concept is: HIV positive folks are not, and cannot be, responsible for other people's health.

Yes we can protect others by taking meds. This is one. But if someone really cares for their negative status, they can get all methods to prevent it to change. Not accepting bareback and/or getting on Prep.

In an ideal world, discussing status with stranger would not be a problem. But in this world, homophobia and serophobia are still dominant. So we can't take it lightly.

I never ask, don’t see much point in this.
No one seems to ask anymore, but if asked, I will disclose as I do on all my profiles. Otherwise, I walk away if I feel uncomfortable.

I am still blocking myself.  On one hand, everyone can control whether or not they infect and still enjoy raw sex.  So perhaps as an unmedicated poz guy I should just stop thinking about it???  Maybe if they bring it up, great, else focus on the sex?  Feedback appreciated.

The subject rarely cums up. I'm poz bottom and any conversation takes place after a top's dick has been inside my hole 🕳

Same thing happens to me all the time.

As this is an old survey it doesn’t have my answer which is

All my online profiles mention that I am poz, on meds and undetectable, U=U

but if I am at the baths I don’t bring it up, although if someone asked I would be honest and tell them…. But these days no one seems to ask - especially at things like cumunion

The question of status is rarely brought up. I am sure the advancement in HIV treatment and the availability of PrEP has facilitated the shift. Going back twenty years ago, the subject of HIV status was very common on most hookup sites. Now, most guys seem to make a point that they are on PrEP when confessing their desire for BB sex. I typically don’t disclose my status on non-bareback sites. Instead, I sometimes post a pic with U=U as an indirect support for the community.

I don’t really frequent hookup site anymore. I do have a current profile on BBRTS. I also have a profile on FetLife, but don’t disclose my status. I do belong to a few groups that are bareback in nature as well as having a U=U photo in my photos. If someone can’t put the two together, than we would probably not be a good match anyway.

the fact that being undetectable, and not disclosing it, remains a crime in many states is amazing. Despite all the scientific evidence that validates U=U. And that someone unknowingly infects others might fair better in a criminal trial is criminal in its own way.

Hi guys, when I meet a guy for sex I always say the same thing before the fun begins. It's this, " if you have something nasty in your balls tell me after you have rammed in but before you spunk me, I won't stop you cumming inside me but i want to know if I'm taking something nasty, ok".

 I'd love to catch it

I feel like I had a topic similar somewhere. 😉 As they say, it takes 2 to tango, and if the other person isn't asking and taking raw loads or willing to fuck you without the question coming up, how do people suddenly inflict the burden on the other person?

Oh, that's right, we have a whole section of society that insists on other people taking accountability for their actions. They tell you to shove your dick in them and fuck the hell out of them with no conversation. Then, they complain if you haven't warned them about anything transmittable because they didn't ask. In the previous scene, they were in total bliss being fucked into the next county and telling you not to pull out or cum deep inside them. They didn't ask. They didn't medicate with PrEP. They didn't insist on a condom. They aren't leaving with a year's supply of Turtle Wax or a copy of the home game just for playing. But somehow it's your fault!? I'd stop self-guilting if it were me.

So...the presumption is what? You're open to taking on anything including HIV, or would you revisit your insistence on them staying in? I'd assume on your statement that you're "going for the gusto". 😉

I like the way you approach that and I really wish you gallons of hot cum that you will be flooded with. Then you can be a real good whore.

Thanks @SomewhereonNeptune.  Whether I have something nasty in my balls is subjective.  I rather love knowing my cum contains HIV.  I don't think of that as nasty at all.  Infections from fucking certainly happen, but it is definitely the exception and not the rule.  And; if the guy I fuck or fucking me doesn't want to talk about it, I should?

I have a play party I am going to on the 16th. I think I'll just play and not fret it.

My thoughts too! Well said.
