Hi guys!

I'm considering buying some dildoes. Any advantages of rubber over silicone? I think I have a rubber/latex allergy - hilarious I know ( me being a condom free zone ). Maybe I have a legit excuse to bareback?

Interested to know if rubber dildoes have any advantages.

Silicone is far better the rubber.  It is hypoallergenic, chemical, heat and UV resistant.  It is much easier to clean and sterilize than rubber.  I own lots of toys and all are silicone.  Once you use a silicone toy, you will not want to ever use a rubber one.

My current ones are silicone. I’ve read that they’re less likely to contain nasty chemicals and are easier to clean. Just remember that you can’t use silicone lube with them or store them in contact with other silicone toys.

That’s not necessarily true. Apparently, if the toys are 100% silicone, you can use silicone lube. I don’t know why,  but some can be also be used with silicone lube.

“All Square Peg Toys products are made of the highest quality 100% platinum cure silicone, meaning you can use any lube you want without fear of degrading the material or damaging the toy, and they clean with just a little dish soap and warm water.”

It has been over a decade since I've used this method, but after particular heavy item use, top rack of dishwasher, tiny squirt of dish soap in soap dispenser and filled with distilled vinegar, rinse cycle (no heat).  10-12 minutes - a weekend's worth of use, gone!  Run for second cycle (no soap/vin) if you want to eliminate any vinegar smell, which will dissipate in a couple of hours.

I didn't realize Square Peg had a "try at home" program - you don't really get to try it, but you can hold it and feel it's firmness before buying.  If you open the tamper proof packaging, you bought it, but otherwise can return.  I just ordered 5 to "try out."
