I can see Putin totally intent on resurrecting, the Easter Bloc. I don't think anyone would dispute that BUT, for him, to be SO STUPID as to press the button & taking the nuclear option. I don't believe he is THAT INTENT on the Russian people & himself being blown into the next galaxy. Despite everything he says, I think the most likely to go nuclear, is Trump. He is so unreliable, in everything he says & in All HIS ACTIONS (06 Jan 2020). He cannot be trusted as to which way his agendas will flip.

Despite the world's best efforts & a majority of the world's population desirous of peace, this is REGRETFULLY, IMPOSSIBLE. There will always be world leaders, Putin, Netanyahu, Xin Ping & off-the-grid groups like Hezbollah, MAGA, Israeli illegal settlers etc that want more than they have or are entitled to & are seriously overjoyed when their efforts involve violence, death & the displacement of thousands of INNOCENT men, women & children. I hear you on differing viewpoints. To be able to disagree, however strongly & then to be mutually happy on discussing another issue is the way social systems should work. Also looking forward to the futures neg & poz (LoL😁) discussions 😘😋.

NATO is a double edged sword when it comes to promises made & membership desires of SMALL independent nations with simarlily small defence forces. After spending 50+ yrs as Eastern Bloc members, when freedom finally arrived, their visions of independent political freedom, economic growth & ongoing industrial developement were heavily overshadowed by ONE DEMON. That demon was the potential for a recalcitrant & despotic leader, of Russia, to have grandiose dreams of re-establishing "mother Russia" & her sycophantic little satellites. An independent nation small or large has every right, as the ballot box has shown, to strive for membership of whichever organisations they choose. No nation has the right to deny any memberships despite whatever demands or promises have been made by third parties. These small nations desire peaceful futures & no one nation has the right to enforce an alternative political agenda onto them. That is what we call, INDEPENDENCE.

Unfortunately, these implements of war are a necessary evil. After actually PROMISING UKRAINE with a GUARANTEE of defence (boots on ground) (1994) when Ukraine voluntarily gave up their nuclear arsenal to get this guarantee, Biden as the lead partner of NATO has egregiously failed, along with all other members, to meet this guarantee since the conflict began in 2014. Peaceful diplomacy in the areas of Ukraine, Gaza, West Bank, Taiwan, South China Sea et al has been an abject failure & these areas ARE NOW, either nightmarish conflict zones or tinder boxes of potential invasion & land grabbing by despotic leaders. The West has suffered extreme humiliation, along with lost lives, simply because they have taken the path of least resistance to appease GENOCIDAL, lunatic leaders who have played the PERFECT BLUFF. Zelensky has now used long range missiles (12mths too late) against Russia & GUESS WHAT🤔😱?? The world is still here & there is NO NUCLEAR WAR 😭😭😭😭.

Unlike Putin & Netanyahu, Zelensky has attempted to keep civilian casualties to a minimum. For this he has demonstrated a level of humanity not present in either of the two murderers mentioned.

Enlisting as a way to gain higher education is unfortunately the only way lower socio economic students have access to degrees & diplomas. Independent nations also require defence forces that can "aid" in the de-esculation of rogue states (Russia, China, Israel) from their land grabbing agendas. Defence also provides a large section of any countries employment base. Throughout history there has been one particular country that has willingly / unwillingly taken the role of international "peace keeper", because there has always been smaller despotic leaders with delusions of dominance & grandeur. It is a tight rope we walk 🤔🤔🤔. It would be nice to think that this personell could be better utilised in civil defence mode, flood, fire assistance, other national disasters & to follow through with rebuilding efforts.

My comment was really a very "tongue in cheek" throwaway line about how random political party allegiance has become & also how splinter groups have become a somewhat sinister, & pervasive fact in today's political world. As with the US, Australia's mainstream political parties are morphing into a different page, in the same book.This unfortunately, is happening throughout the western (Democracies). I was always taught at school, I was at school long before the independent concept arose, that the United States was an essentially two party system just as Australia, the UK & New Zealand USED to be. I have found world politics particularly disturbing over the last 10-12yrs. This last US election increased this feeling but, I was damned sure that the REPUBLICAN Convention elected Trump as the Republican nominee. Now you are trying to tell me that the Republicans & the Maggot (sorry Maga) parties are SEPARATE ENTITIES. HOW can you not be a Republican, if you voted for the Republican nominee🤔🤔?? Somewhere along the way, my understanding got VERY LOST & I am flumoxed.

My view of the world is a very broad but, stable one. One earned through professional, social, educational & personal learning & experience. Any person, gay, straight, male or female who thinks that age limits should be reduced are getting into predatory & other agendas that NO CHILD should be exposed too, no matter how hard you try to "teach" a child maturity.

Maturity is not LEARNED in a classroom. It is a process of maturity that any 8yr would actually display. To someone of this age having sex is relative to stealing a lolly. There IS NO full comprehension of what circumstances are occurring around him.

I agree whole heartedly, both boys & girls 👍. Children are less mature, I think, mentally than those of yester-year. Many boys, at 12 or 15, were the families wage earner. However, when we discuss lowering the age of a particular activity surely CONSENT is the overlying factor of said reduction, in age (of consent). NB: The Australian government is now in the process of legislating (making it illegal) for children, under 16 to subscribe or to access ANY social media accounts, Instagram, Facebook etc, without parental consent. The big question here, would be: Why is government filling the parental role 🤔?? I would be interested in your opinion 😏.

This is why schools provide sex education. Whether or not it is formulated correctly, is another discussion. Having young school children being susceptible to peer pressure (a certified world wide problem), contracting STD's, which have so many avenues of transmission, & then playing contact sports or just engaging in rough play as boys particularly tend to do in any playground is a deplorable avenue to go down. Although an 8 or 10yr old fucking around probably isn't going to school anyway 🤔🤔🤔??? Underage sexual freedom (only usual in marriage) may have been socially acceptable 200yrs ago but most of society has evolved where certain actions, sex, alcohol, smoking, marriage, driving, voting are no longer acceptable under certain age limits. Most societies operate on a rules (not physical based) system & anarchy (a free for all of social ideals) is not acceptable & a certain age of understanding / consent has to have been reached.

Negative consequence😭!!! I am NOT IMAGINING, they are very real, harmful, if not TOTALLY LIFE DESTROYING. Just so a few (gay or straight, male or female) people can say they enjoyed a "fuck" at 8,10, 12yrs etc there a SO MANY MORE who are scarred for life, if not dead from suicide. Children sex TRAFFICED or in cult groups also DO NOT get the benefit of sex education. Nothing can justify allowing under age sexual freedom. NOTHING🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬!!!!

Education WILL NEVER override peer pressure. Any advocate of "underage" sex is only thinking with their dick. All you guys who have "wonderful" stories of familial intercourse & underage sexual encounters & have not suffered 🤔🤔???? (I am not a psychiatrist) are lucky to have come through undamaged but, the majority DO NOT & their lives are destroyed.

NO 12yr old (unless wealthy parents) is equipped to deal with any negative consequences financially, or mentally of (under age) sex.

IF a child (under 18)has been protected, raised in a heavily conservative religious environment, has slow intellectual developement (dyslexia, ADHD or from an injury) or intellectually disabled (Down Syndrome) will negate any attempt to teach a child to process their feelings, ethics & morality & the proper ways to seek / give consent. 18, as the age of consent, is not a foolproof marker but it provides a protection for most children who would be seriously traumatised (peer pressure, predators) by the sex act below 18.

So sorry😂👍!! The world of Acronyms, which I loathe more than our political leaders, has been around for ever 🙄🤣. Most medical terms are so annoyingly long & difficult to say. B & B's (burns & bowels), Ortho (orthopaedics), BP (blood pressure) & one of the most fun to ask any nurse / doctor to say (quickly) is BPM / sphygmo (blood pressure monitor, sphygmomanometer). Love reading your commentary, US election has been very enlightening 🤣😘😘.

I COULD NOT have put it better. Sex in the pre 80's-90's was a time of fun, loving, experimentation & collective gatherings. We had all types, leathermen to drag queens, drinking at the same bar, laughing, joking & talking dirty. Yes, racist & gender jokes / stories were told & often by the same people who were the "BUTT" (couldn't help myself) of the joke being told. We laughed, shared another drink & maybe touched each other up. There was NO SUCH THING as political correctness & we enjoyed life more than NOW, when we are too afraid of "offending" people. Humour has left the building 😭😭😭.
