    WOW! I love it! So wish I had experienced that when I was in college. Sadly I grew up in and went to college in a podunk $#!+#013 town in the midwest... Very deadsville, boring and vanilla.

    When I hear SE Texas, I usually think from Port Aransas or Corpus down to South Padre and Brownsville... Maybe as far north as Galveston or Victoria, but I usually think of those as more Houston area.

    I used to live in Des Moines, but that was over 20 years ago. Probably went to that same bookstore back in the day, I went to all of them. There used to be like 3 downtown and one on the NE side on Euclid Ave I think. I think there is only like one left with booths up there now. I have occasionally been up there to deal with family issues but so far I haven't had time to visit any of the bookstores to see what is still there. Seems like bookstores and theaters are closing down all over anymore. Sad.
