    I had a friend with a similar problem. There's another option to removal surgery, and it involves them tying them off at the base and letting them fall off on their own. That might be a cheaper option if it's available where you live.

    I had experiencing falling kidney function after taking Truvada (TDF). It started out with a very slow and mild decline, and then about year 5 the decline started to accelerate rapidly, so much so that I was classified with chronic kidney disease level 3. I was sent to a nephrologist who took me off of Truvada and re-tested my kidney function after a month and my kidney function was substantially better than it was before. He had my doctor switch me to another drug that was more kidney friendly and over the next two years my kidney function bounced back. It's still not back to where it was when I started Truvada, but it's at least in the low end of the normal range now and I'm no longer classified with CKD3. There is an active class action suit against Gilead over Truvada, because they knew kidney damage was a side effect but they continued to delay the release of TAF until the patent on TDF was about to expire, even though TAF was developed and available many years before. I also later discovered a few years later that I suffered bone density loss as well, and I was put on alendronate (generic Fosamax) for two years as a precautionary measure to reverse some of the bone loss. I was retested two years later and my bone loss had improved and they took me off the alendronate.

    Glad I was able to help! I'd continue with the peppercorns for at least a week. A lot of people continue to take them daily to prevent a recurrence. The swelling should go away faster now that the hardened part is gone. Another thing that sometimes helps is keeping the area moistened with Vaseline for about a week after. One application a day should be enough. This helps reduce friction and forms an "occlusion" to keep the area most enough to heal faster.

    To me the whole "trans" thing is just another trend for most people. I'm sure there are a select few who honestly feel like they're in the wrong body, but there are also a lot of insecure people who feel they have to be different, or they crave negative attention, so they take it to an extreme and decide to change their sexual identity.
