Ha- yes, the staff are unfriendly, but that seems to be the same all over Berlin, and not just at sex venues. And it’s not the language barrier, either: I speak German, and they are still just as rude. It seems to be universal across the service industry there- it might come as a bit of a shock to you if you are travelling from America, but just remember not to take it personally! The Bull is also one of my favourite bars, but the Laboratory should not be missed: it’s iconic. It’s some distance from the gay area, but public transport in Berlin is excellent (and cheap), and the subway runs 24 hours. Generally speaking, Berlin is a very safe city- so I wouldn’t worry too much on that score. And @subBottomKinkis absolutely right: cash is king in Berlin, and you don’t want to show up at the Lab only to be turned away because you haven’t got the required €10 entry fee in cash.

I love travelling solo when on sexcation. You can do exactly what you want when you want, and with no-one to hold you back, you can let your inner pig fly. You’ll have a great time!

It’s interesting how this event brings out some of the stereotypes of various countries in which it is held. I agree that the Germans seem to do it the best, with strict rules which are just as strictly enforced and adhered to. The British event in London has the same strict rules, but they are not well enforced and only half-heartedly adhered to… after an hour or so, the hoods are coming off, stallions are flipping and mares are mating with each other… everyone ends up having a bit of a laugh and ‘muddling through’ to the end 🤣

I think Noxon only had the horsefair event once- and I remember the guy that runs it complaining afterwards that it was a nightmare to organize… perhaps he just decided it wasn’t worthwhile doing it again.

I couldn’t agree more- it’s a real bug bear of mine. It happened last night at the Vault. I was bent over one of the beer barrels, clearly looking to be fucked, and some bottom swooped in and started felching the loads I’d already collected. The trouble is, in that kind of setting, it’s hard to know at the start whether the felcher is a top just warming up for the big event, or just a lazy bottom who has no intention of fucking you and replacing the cum he’s just eaten. By the time it becomes clear that it’s the latter, it’s too late- the damage is done and the loads are gone, effectively stolen 😡.

Ha, yes- quite a few women and straight couples staying when I was there in the winter too! And not young, either- Jan/Feb is peak season for snowbirds, and there wasn’t a lot of availability hotel-wise on the island as a whole, so more than a few pensioners found themselves booked in at Axel… they did seem a little bemused, especially at the Saturday afternoon pool party!

Trouble is, most of the hotels in GC seem to be set up to discourage this kind of cumdump action- Axel is one of the worst, because you need a key card just to get into the premises at all times of day, which really limits your audience to the other guests that happen to be staying in the hotel at the same time (and on the two occasions I’ve stayed there, they’ve been a rather unfriendly bunch tbh). Not sure if any of the other hotels such as the Don Miguel are much better from this point of view. Most seem to man their reception areas 24/7 in order to repel invaders. You might be better off staying in an Airbnb in one of the apartment buildings. I had a very hot encounter with a guy staying in the Europa apartments, and to gain entry all I needed was a keycode.

I’ve never been convinced by this. The thing is, most tops are a one shot deal- whether they’re online or in a cruise bar, they generally hook up, unload, and disappear back into real life to get on with other things. Bottoms, on the other hand, just keep on going- the more loads they get, the more they want. So they stay online, always hunting for more- or hang out in the cruise bar/sauna to the bitter end. That’s why at the end of the night it seems like there’s nothing but bottoms. And because bottoms cum less often, they’re always horny, always more willing to chat about sex on sites like this- and that feeds into the illusion that there are more bottoms than tops. I reckon there’s a pretty even split. In fact, if you take guys who self-identify as “straight”, I reckon there are actually far more tops than bottoms out there in the world as a whole.

I liked it and hated it in equal measure- details like the bit where Bobby struggles to take an arse pic just to satisfy some random top’s demand on Grindr, only to find himself immediately blocked, rang very true indeed and made me laugh out loud. But I found the whole movie’s tilt toward a heteronormative happy conclusion was very disappointing, particularly as the protagonist himself had railed against such heteronormative values at the beginning. Overall, I thought it was worth watching- even if only to drool over a shirtless Luke Macfarlane at regular intervals.

Got bored on an overnight flight from NY to London, and ended up watching “Bros”. Interested in what you guys thought of it, particularly any New Yorkers. Did any of it ring true?

Interesting account. I’ve never been to Snax, and although I’ve always wanted to see the interior of Berghain in all its glory, I’m not sure I can be bothered with all the aggro. You reach a certain point in life where the idea of standing in a queue for 3 hours, with the very real possibility of being rejected at the end of it, just really doesn’t appeal anymore. I literally have far better things to do with my time. I’m sure it’s “amazing” once you’re inside- if you’re really into music, dancing, and all that shit- but I’m only in it for the sex, and I’m just as sure I can get the same or better sex elsewhere- hell, in those 3 wasted queueing hours alone I could probably have scored a dozen loads somewhere else. Perhaps that’s why the crowd is getting younger- older guys with a bit of life experience just won’t put up with that kind of treatment. I’m sure it’s music to some people’s ears that the oldies are staying away, and who knows? Maybe the chaotic door policy is a deliberate ploy to achieve just that end! I for one am only too happy to leave the young to do their thing- it sounds like an awful way to spend a night in Berlin. I’ll stick to my policy of only visiting that city outside of the main events: there’s always plenty of cock to go round, and it just sounds like it’s a lot less hassle.

I hate these kinds of generalizations. We Brits are often stereotyped as cold and unfriendly, whereas in fact we’re just a bit reserved and shy. If I’m sitting on a train with a stranger, I probably won’t strike up conversation, because I’ll be thinking, “This person might be enjoying a bit of quiet private time, and I don’t want to be presumptuous and disturb him/her”. However, if YOU start talking to ME, I’ll be perfectly friendly and will probably welcome the opportunity to chat. Just because the “Hail fellow well met” type of approach is culturally alien to some groups of people, doesn’t mean to say that their hearts are any less warm than anybody else’s.

It’s one reason I like naked events- it’s harder to carry a phone round with you when you haven’t got any pockets … though increasingly, guys are finding workaround solutions to this.

Well done! I can’t actually remember my first time in a cruise bar, but I do remember it took a long time to pluck up the courage to enter one, and walking by a couple of times is still something I might do if in a new city I’m unfamiliar with. But once inside, I’m totally comfortable, as they’re all pretty much the same: a bar where you can drink, and a back area where you can play- and once you get used to seeing men naked or having sex, there really isn’t a huge amount of variation. Was it naked when you got there, or were you too early for that?

Lab should not be missed- Thursday (naked) is good for general breeding- other nights are often more fetish oriented. You can walk there from Ostbahnhof if you don’t want to take an Uber or a taxi. I also enjoyed the Bull, which in the gay area- just a basic bar with a busy backroom open late into the night… can’t remember for sure, but I don’t think they charge an entrance fee

Yeah, Hardon is first and foremost a sex club- I think there’s some dancing, but that’s not the main focus. Do Vault, then Hardon- and if you’re still around tomorrow afternoon, do SBN.

Options in London are fairly limited these days. It depends a little bit on which Saturday you are talking about. If it’s tomorrow, there’s Hardon at the Union Club in Vauxhall, if it’s next week, then there’s Roast at Electowerks in Islington- these are club nights, starting at 9:00/10:00pm. As far as cruise bars are concerned, there’s really only the Vault, the Bunker and the underground club at Central Station… Other than that, there’s just the saunas. Hampstead Heath would be good in the summer, but right now it’s still too cold. I think I’d still bet on the Vault if I were in your shoes- it won’t be as good as it is on Mondays and Thursdays (naked night), but it will still probably deliver.
