    Likewise when I was young back in the 80s. Maybe the change of diet since those days to more refined foods with less decent fibre has made things messier. But that was all we did back then. I've changed my diet to be avoid the factory-baked and supermarket bread, and eat less processed, fatty and sugary foods and everything is cleaner.
