Was just informed that activist, writer and friend David Mixner passed away from Long Covid Complications this week, he will be sorely missed in LGBTQ politics as well as on this and other gay sites. Though we had known of each other for a number of years because of all the people we knew in common and all of the events and galas and such that he was key to organizing and that I appeared in, it took until a random hook-up 3 years ago to finally meet in person - and we had chatted on and off over the years it turned out on subjects both sexual and/or political, even philosophic on this and numerous other sites...Resquiet en Pace, David. Yes, that was definitely a classic signal back in the day - though that signal could also mean to meet in the Men's Room if the Rest Area/Truck Stop had one. For me most of the time if I met a trucker at a rest stop we went to the woods behind it, or if it was real quiet we stayed in the Men's Room, and sporadically would play at a nearby motel. I used to have a good number of Satyr's films (that I paid for) on a spare hard-drive.
