We used to have rational gun restrictions. The radicals on the SCOTUS ended that in the 90s after what, two centuries of restrictions. At least they’re still allowing restrictions on bombs, artillery, nukes, missiles. Not that any of that could rationally be blocked if you really believed the originalist bull. Instead it’s just about manipulating the rubes. I understand I’m less patient with the stupid and evil party than others. It’s just because I grew up with these people. Some of them wanted to disinvite me from my grandmother’s memorial, and some refused to bring children because the gay cousin might corrupt them. Largely, they’re useless sacks of racist crap who are upset they can’t drop the n word (or other ethnic slurs) in public conversation. The worst buy into white nationalism. The best are merely propagandized by horseshit right wing media and don’t have the brain and willpower to reason past the propaganda techniques. They say dumb things like, “The lamestream media just lies about Him.” It’s sad how we have to keep trying to save them for the dystopia they’re rushing us toward while imagining that when Medicare goes away it won’t mean for them. But here we are, and the saddest LCRs keep pretending they won’t be cut off like the rest of us.

I think it’s easier to see on the outside. You can see people here, and the bulk of my family who all hear the bad stuff and figure they don’t want that so surely the Republicans won’t, say cut my brother’s military retirement and disability benefits (they will), won’t really make poor children work in factories (they already do), won’t punish gay and trans people for existing (they are in some places and want that everywhere), won’t destroy the air and water supplies (they’ve been working on it for decades). They identify as Republicans, and they’re good, so surely the Republicans in office won’t make their lives worse. And they’re going to drag the rest of us to Hell with them.

Originalism would say it means, “Don’t be Alexander Hamilton.”

An EPA that exists. A Department of Education that exists. Lina Khan riding herd at the FTC. Unions getting stronger. Social mobility. Protestors not being shot by the military. Working and middle class children not forced to work in factories and slaughterhouses. Feeding children, even when they’re not in school. Caring for children after they’re born. Nanana rather naively asserts that suddenly inflation happened and gave right wing assholes motivation, but there was no inflationary period in 2015, and my family were largely already held captive. The bigger divide was much earlier with the end of the Fairness Doctrine and the rise of right wing hate radio. The family members who had disposable time at work to listen to that crap were the first radicalized. I was first called the enemy of America in Clinton’s first term by a relative who never bothered joining the military, and it’s been all downhill. There’s also been mention of virtual vs physical labor, but that’s just virtue signaling. The difference is between people who paid attention in media literacy classes and those who didn’t. Trump still lays propaganda techniques in a string, and they are readily gobbled up. Again, the Republican politicians hate labor. My family members are voting to die from lack of access to healthcare and live more miserably while waiting for it to happen, and without a deprogramming plan ready to roll out nationwide, all we can hope is to save themselves from themselves again. There are no Republican policies or plans in Project 2025, the nearly identical Agenda 47, or the additional plans and statements right wing politicians have espoused that help anyone in my family at all. Prices will skyrocket, availability of products will plummet, pay will crash. And my family members are begging for it to happen. To them. The nation is probably screwed. A whole bunch of people in the officer corps in the military are now also trying to sound the alarm. My family Facebook groups are a mess. And you can’t get people to open up their eyes and objectively look at the world because they’re wrapped up in phantasms of what they want it to be. The cities aren’t burning. Portland and Seattle are pleasant. Been there. But my family members who see the pictures think they’re war-torn cratered out smoking husks like Gaza. The country is great. Better than 4 years ago. We all have toilet paper. That was just another of Trump’s myriad failures.

Trump also wants to remove trans soldiers from the military again. That means that people braver than most of the people here praising Trump, especially including Trump, will be removed from the service. And the Republicans are planning to make pornography a felony and make us all felons by existing. That includes the Log Cabin Sad Bois like y’all. The Republicans both in leadership and the voters hate y’all so much.

Hey, Trump also hates veterans, but so do the rest of the Republicans. They were never going to pass the Pact Act, and even with Jon Stewart mocking them mercilessly, a very few actually got on board to actually help veterans. And if Trump wins, they’re planning on making veterans decide between retirement pay and disability. Because Republicans hate veterans like all labor. Why keep paying after they’re retired or too broken? And that’s besides wanting to end the ACA with no replacement so we’re back to rescission and lifetime caps and pre-existing conditions. Hell, they’re also planning on ending Medicaid and Medicare because fuck everyone who can’t just pay out of pocket. Trump’s so much more than racist, and the Republican leadership are all just this evil. It’s the bottom 99% of Republican voters who are phenomenally stupid. Just amazingly dumb. Like stump, box of hair, village missing an idiot dumb. It would just be pathetic, but you morons are going to hurt innocent people who don’t deserve your incapacity.
