Erasmus student coming to London next year

Hey, since it's my first post here i'm not sure it's the right place to post something like this but i thought it would be the best
So, next year i'm starting an Erasmus for about 3 months in London (still don't know the exact place tho, i'm still searching for a company that'll take me as an intern)
Was wondering where to find easily a place to stay for that time ?Any advice ? Maybe a staying in the same place than an other gay men could be fun. And also if u have any good advice for someone staying here for the first time, where to make new contacts (don't care if gay or hetero, i'll probably chase on grindr for gays anyway), well any kind of advice.
