Thanks for a thought provoking article. When I first came to Ohio, back in the 80s, there were wayside stops with outhouse like privies, and LOTS of glory holes. Ditto adult book stores. Almost everything and everyone has moved online to the websites and apps.  Gay/ LGBT bars were dying a slow death due to people staying at home going on websites and later apps, and COVID and the lockdown really forced many remaining gay/ LGBT bars and dance clubs to close.
