Moderators viking8x6 Posted June 11 Moderators Report Posted June 11 Are you taking doxyPEP significantly often? Doxycycline definitely does cause sun sensitivity. Quote
Bimarried001 Posted June 12 Report Posted June 12 I’ve been on Biktarvy for years and never experienced that. Quote
kspozcum Posted June 12 Report Posted June 12 Keep in mind, you should always discuss this with your doctor, but have you been on any other HIV medications? It's uncommon, but if memory serves correctly, Biktarvy does have a few cases of phototoxic reactions. HIV itself can cause photosensitivity in approximately 5% of all patients, and can be made worse with drugs such as NSAIDS, sulfonamides, or even pyridoxine (Vitamin B6). I would definitely check with your PCP or ID doctor and make sure it isn't a more severe underlying condition.
