  1. That's is completely disrespectful of our VOLUNTEER moderation team. There is no maid service here. Grow up and be an adult and stop being a spoiled little kid who thinks his mommy will always be there to tell him he's wonderful and to clean up his messes.
  2. Your post had nothing to do with not being able to send messages, so I've split it into it's own thread. Please don't create messes like that which moderators have to fix. You caught me in a mood where I didn't feel like giving an infraction, but you should have gotten one. To answer your question - Chrome is the #2 browser accessing the site (just slightly lower usage than Safari - which is high because of iPhone/iPad use). If it were a general problem with Chrome a lot of people would be complaining. The fact that it's just you means there's something screwy on your end. If you have extensions/plug-ins installed in Chrome, try turning them off and seeing if the problem persists. Then enabled them in small batches until you figure out the one that's causing the problem.
  3. Yes, that thread is hidden. I'm not sure why. Perhaps @drscorpio can explain.
  4. I need two URLs to figure out what's going on… The URL of the page where you saw the link (copy the URL at the top of the page in the URL/search bar) The URL where you saw the error message (right click and copy URL from page #1 - it's better than getting the URL from the page with the error since there may be a redirect going on).
  5. HaHa is also +1. So there are 5 that give a point, 2 neutral, 1 that subtracts a point.
  6. Just a follow up the names of the statuses that didn't really make sense in the context of BZ, got renamed. The new list of levels is: Newbie Rookie Apprentice Explorer Contributor -> PARTICIPANT Enthusiast Collaborator -> INSIDER Community Regular Rising Star -> DEVOTEE Proficient -> FANATIC Experienced -> EXPERT Mentor -> SPECIALIST Veteran Grand Master
  7. Without checking the admin area for the exact settings I'm 95% certain sad and confused are both neutral on points value since they can be used in both positive and negative contexts.
  8. I'm the first to say if the kid is legal in your jurisdiction and wants to have sex with you - go for it! But just don't discuss it here. The laws in many ways are stupid, BUT they're stupid because simple rules work best. It's not like we want navigate something with the complexity of the IRS tax code just to have sex.
  9. Thread got off topic and no one responded to the feedback I was requesting, so it's now locked.
  10. Once again, these are the ranks the ones with <- next to them could use a re-think. Basically put "bareback" before each one and see if it makes sense. The ones with <- don't really make sense. Newbie Rookie Apprentice Explorer Contributor <- Enthusiast Collaborator <- Community Regular Rising Star <-? Proficient <-? Experienced Mentor <- Veteran Grand Master The ones with <-? kinda almost make sense. Suggestions on terms that are more appropriate for this particular site?
  11. It has no meaning. On the first page of this thread I showed all the ranks and asked if people wanted me to rename them to something more appropriate for the site and no one gave any suggestions. It's a long list, so would require a little work/imagination.
  12. Here's the list of possible ranks. I'm pretty sure I can rename them. Just let me know what you think better names would be…
  13. We can't have illegal content on the site. It simply can't be left in place. It's not about being a Nazi. It's about keeping the site legal. Illegal sites get shut down. This site has been up for 11 years now because members, moderators and I have worked hard to keep it legal.
  14. I did a version upgrade of the software that runs the site this morning. The original ranking system - the one that gave you a title like "virgin" or "sex addict" - is now gone and replaced by one that ranks you based on a variety of things. You'll see little badges next to your avatar, and a big version in the sidebar of your profile page - those are the new achievement system. The question is whether the achievement system is even necessary. It's redundant with "reputation" and "member level". I enabled it just to try it out, but I'm thinking of just shutting it off. If you like it (or dislike it), comment below.
  15. The short(ish) version of a long story is that a week or so ago Wordpress alerted me that the version of the scripting language that's used on the server was no longer secure. (It was past its "end of life" - hosts like using old software because more of the problems have been worked out.) So I had my host upgrade the scripting language as well as the database software. Everything seemed to be OK, but then a few days ago @puphawaii let me know that the leaderboard wasn't updating. I went into the admin area and saw that the upgrades my host had done messed up the background processes for the site - things that send out notifications or figure out who was the leader for the day after the day is over. Well, they were taking forever to diagnose the problem and getting nowhere and then last night around 11:30 ET, while working on the problem, one of the techs did something that stopped the scripting language from connecting to the database server - at which point all the database-driven sites on my server went down. I was fast asleep at the time and didn't learn of the problem until I woke up just before 5am - at which point I saw a text from @drscorpio (though, giving credit where credit is due @SIReast was the first to report the problem - via Twitter). I got out of bed and escalated the problem with my host and a senior tech fixed it. I also got the host's "BDSM" person (Business Development, Sales & Marketing) involved (she lives in Europe, so it wasn't a holiday for her). She's going to escalate it to senior management when they get back from holiday tomorrow - given that they basically crashed my server for 5-6 hours after failing to resolve the original problem in a timely manner. Generally my host has a really great reputation, but they messed up this time.
  16. I've locked this thread for now. There won't be any tweaks to chat until I restructure a few things, so no point in listing problems. Right now it looks like I'll be able to the work on chat this summer. (I'm guessing July).
  17. What URL are you seeing those errors on? It works for me on FF for Mac and iPhone. But to answer your other question - no the site isn't functional yet. Other things keep getting in the way of getting it done.
  18. Writing in German is also not allowed on this site. We don't allow things we can't moderate.
  19. Glad to hear the problems have gone away. I changed nothing, so the problems weren't on my end. One possibility was that somehow you triggered the DDOS protection that's in place and got temporarily blocked from the site (my server is on a DDOS-protected network but I'm not exactly sure what would trigger a block). Anyway, good that things are back to normal.
  20. For the record, ^^^ THIS ^^^ got him banned from the site for a pretty long time. Heart disease is the #1 cause of death in the United States. It kills (slightly) more people every year than cancer. The #5 cause of death is stroke. The #7 is diabetes. Obesity is one of the top causes for all of those conditions. So yes, gainer fetish is extremely harmful. Like wanting (or encouraging people) to progress to AIDS, it is a form of self-harm and hence somewhat "suicidal".
  21. They're called gTLDs (generic top level domains). I highly doubt that's the problem. For those that are technical, if you experience the problem you can right click (on a computer, not a mobile device) and choose "Inspect…" from the contextual menu. That will bring up another window. Go to the "Network" tab in that window and then reload the page. There will then be a line for each element of the page that's loaded with bars that show how long it took to load. When you click on a bar there will be a way to tell what caused the delay with that particular element (different browsers display it differently). It's useful to know which line (page element) is causing the delay and what the browser says the cause of the delay was. Here's an example (using Firefox). This is what you'd see when you click on a line, then click on "Timings"… What that's saying is that something (not quite sure what) blocked the loading of the page for ~1/10th of a second (95ms). DNS resolution was instantaneous (because it was already cached). It took 1/20th of a second to connect to the server, another 1/20th of a second to negotiate encryption. Sending the request took no time, and then it had to wait 1/7th of a second to get a response. But again, for most of you none of that will make much of any sense. But if it does make sense to any of you, and you can do that when you encounter a problem it would be hugely helpful to know what you see in that debug window.
  22. Those of you on computers - please try another browser, like Firefox, and let me know if you see the problem there. In my experience Safari is a bit of a weak browser. I run Twitter in 5 different browsers (different accounts in each) and Safari is the only one that has problems. It constantly gives me memory warnings and auto-play of videos just ceases pretty quickly when I'm browsing. It's probably my least favorite browser (Firefox is my favorite.) Based on all your reports it feels like a bad version of Safari got pushed out. Nothing has changed on this site in the time period that's being discussed.
  23. I'm having that problem, with BBRT, but not here. What browser(s) are you using? iPad and iPhone I'm assuming Safari, but how about on your Mac? Have you tried quitting and coming at it fresh? One possibility is that your ISP is trying to snoop on what you do (using a reverse proxy server). When they see I've got security set up here so that's impossible, they may just connect you properly. To test for that, turn off WiFi on your iPhone and connect via the cellular network and see if the problems persist (or use your iPhone to create a hotspot for your other devices so they too use the cellular network). If there's no problem on your cell network, then the problem is with your ISP.
  24. I've heard previously that it's not uncommon to have another STI at the time of HIV diagnosis. Whether that's a causal relationship, or simply both effects of being a slut, I don't know.
  25. I should mention that I was thinking through the whole Mastercard problem with one of the owners of Raw Fuck Club (not Owen Hawk - the other one that very few of you know). Anyway, he was thinking that since the apps (Grindr, Scruff, etc.) satisfy Apple's content guidelines, that they might not be considered "adult content or services". In which case they'd be exempt from Mastercards rules (as is Twitter, despite being one of the biggest porn sites on the planet and taking credit cards for advertising). IF the apps are exempt (that's a big IF), then the web-based hookup sites would have to follow suit and do what the apps do - so all public pictures are PG (or maybe PG-13 if Mastercard allows). But can you imagine BarebackRT with no public dick or ass pics? IMHO, that would just be weird. Breeding Zone barely pays it's own expenses. The money I make mostly comes from my porn sites - e.g. BBBH.com, etc. None of my sites take credit cards. Instead I get my money by referring people to porn sites, and then I get either a percentage of the sale or a flat fee for referring the customer. This is why I've been so slow to get the hookup sites I've been working on off the ground - my porn sites are a higher priority. Some porn sites have tried taking crypto. Almost none of the customers used it when it was offered as an option. That said, if Mastercard goes strict on these new rules and it's life or death for hookup sites, I can see gay guys figuring out how to pay with crypto. And honestly, that's the holy grail for porn/adult sites. They pay crazy amounts in fees to credit card companies that would be gone with crypto. And chargebacks are impossible with crypto. The only downside is I don't think you can do automatic rebilling with crypto.
