  1. I should add this: If you have an AIDS diagnosis and aren’t being treated, you’ll probably have a high viral load, and the viral load impacts transmissibility. You probably also have 2 or 3 years left to live. If you don’t want to contract HIV, take Prep.
  2. I’m only disappointed because it’s 2022, but here’s your answer: HIV is the virus. If you have contracted the virus, you’re HIV-positive, mostly referring to the antibodies in your system. However, if you’re positive, there are other metrics that become important, like T-cell count and viral load. When your T-cell count falls below 200, you get an AIDS diagnosis. You’ll also receive an AIDS diagnosis if you get diagnosed with an opportunistic infection (meaning normally people don’t get the infection, but your immune system is compromised and the infecting agent takes advantage of the opportunity to invade).
  3. So, no, really. The problem isn’t two parties grifting, the problem is first past the post voting. Until you can get ranked choice voting through, nothing else is going to work. In the meantime, third parties are the worst thing that could happen as they only siphon off votes from the party closer to it. Any political campaign will require funding for advertising, staff, and legal expenses. If you somehow got RCV enacted everywhere today, you’d still have politicians seeking donations. CGP Grey has good voting system tutorial videos on his YouTube channel, go look them up. Finally, it’s embarrassing to see someone write that both parties are the same they’ve been for decades. The Democrats are much better on social issues than even a decade ago, but much better than the 90s when the HRC promised they could get Employment Non-Discrimination through, but only if we abandoned trans people. At least there’s less trans hate now from the Democrats. Meanwhile, Republicans have hitched their wagon to the cowardly Nazi team. If you can’t see the difference in the two parties, you need to look much, much harder. Sure, Democrats are disappointing, but Republicans are just evil root and branch, so that’s where we are near term. Probably mid term, also.
  4. I chalk this all up to conservatives just being lying liars who lie. And they don’t just lie to normal people, they lie to themselves and each other in an attempt to maintain this fake bubble world where reality conforms to their feelings. It would be sad if they were only hurting themselves.
  5. Probably covid, although I imagine opening a new bathhouse would be difficult
  6. Well, I just had to do an off-cycle blood draw and they only took 1 vial instead of the usual 8-10, so that was exciting.
  7. Also, COVID is also still a thing, and HIV is a major comorbidity. I’m still dealing with PTSD and long haul symptoms from my over my 8-week long COVID experience + bacterial pneumonia that piggy-backed along, then 6-8 weeks of pneumonia recovery, then another 6 months on oxygen, then a partial coronary artery blockage that was exacerbated by both, then cardiac catheterization, the whole while getting winded from walking 50 to 100 feet. Finally a year and nine months later, I’m getting back to normal. Oh, and at the height of Covid while in the hospital, my CD4s dropped into the mid-30s. All because a jackass who knew he was exposed chose to attend a public event indoors. He was also hospitalized and intubated, but I never was able to find out if he survived. You don’t want either, and you definitely don’t want both. Get vaccinated for Covid, take Prep, and once we get a vaccine for HIV, get that.
  8. The fiction is fantasy and all, but the follow up comments are not. I ignore those because it’s not above my tolerance level, but I could see it being there for some. I don’t know if the crowds cheering on rape and stealthing and the like cross over to illegal, but my personal moral compass says it’s uncouth at the least.
  9. “The Harris woman”. Jesus fucking Christ. Everyone in America knows who Kamala Harris is. Why the misogyny?
  10. In the 1800s, I’d was Horse and Sparrow, but it’s always been propaganda to make rich people more money at the expense of everyone else.
  11. Statistics is hard. I run into issues with people not understanding outliers constantly. Just because this one data point is anomalous to the population doesn’t make it overly important in describing the trends of the set. I don’t blame people for trying to put importance on their experience, but it doesn’t change the overall picture. In the case of HIV, evidence-based medicine says go on meds as soon as possible. I’m sorry the one poster had a bad experience. I’ve had 2 fairly minor issues with my medication so my doc switched things out. And I’m still undetectable which is my goal because I’m not an adrenaline junkie looking to play chicken with a deadly virus, and I’m not in a death cult.
  12. Sort of the key there is, “top who knows what he’s doing.” I’ve known far more who don’t than do.
  13. The bigger problem, of course, is we’re part of a global system. Even if you eradicate gonorrhea in the US, someone comes in from Canada where it wasn’t eradicated, and you’re back in a contact tracing mode.
  14. Another thing--most people are decent. Most people will tell a partner if they are HIV positive, so you'd know. Most people won't have sex if they're contagious with another STD until treatment is done. Sure, occasionally, someone won't know of an STD (including HIV) because there were no symptoms and they're not being regularly tested, but those odds are probably pretty low.
  15. There’s one name I can’t find, and that’s the original narrator, Tom’s husband. I think he disappeared in the middle stories, or at least I can’t place him. Help? oh, and thanks for the Navi-verse stories
  16. I’m not pierced, but I love a guy with a pierced dick fucking me.
  17. It’s been said on other similar topics by multiple people, but I prefer bareback sex, but will bottom with a condom user if he doesn’t take the hint. Frequently, on a repeat, he will just dive in raw, anyway.
  18. Ass, hole, manhole for me. I’m gay and completely cis and like guys; using feminine names for my body parts breaks the image for me.
  19. Honestly, the anger, resentment, and xenophobia are pretty much the basic hallmarks of Trump supporters. Trump’s particular genius was recognizing that celebrating the worst traits of angry, resentful, xenophobes made them love him. The irony is how he turns “Christians” into creatures Jesus would never recognize as his own.
  20. Thanks! That’s a great story
  21. If I saw that profile, I would take away that the poster doesn’t want to walk into an encounter with expectations of where it’s going. I somewhat get that, although typically I go in wanting/expecting to bottom. I’m completely good with a change of plans that lands me on top. Sometimes it’s fun to be the 5’6” dude pounding the fuck out of a 6’2” guy who initially thought he would be on top.
  22. The answer is “yes”. Probably up to a half dozen in a night except for the occasional party.
  23. Depends on the friend, I guess. I would trust a few, probably not more than that.
