I’m over them.  I know this sounds completely out of date but I miss the days when we had to go out in order to hook up.  You had to socialize - meet people and talk to them - before fucking.  Now we have so much instantaneous anonymous communication and unlimited sexual options that we’ve created a crop of shallow, self-absorbed and antisocial guys who crave immediate gratification for themselves but demand pornstar looks and performance from everyone else.  Swiping left or right is bullshit.  Apps are just tools, not replacements for the real thing.  Sex is still a contact sport and requires more than one player.  Put down the phone, throw away the script, have fun and stop taking everything so seriously - that’s this pig’s opinion anyway...

I had the most luck using Craigslist and when the shut down personal ads, my sex life took a definite downward spiral until I got up to speed with some of the other methods.

I'm qouting myself ...duh!

I cancelled all my memberships with all the sites I used to hookup. I don't know if it is a problem everywhere or just Edmonton but I've had my fill of the liars, flakes, and headgamrs I'm constantly sifting through. And when I spend hours online only to be disappointed in the end, I have to wonder if there is a better way.

I guess the best way to find out is to put the internet away and see what else there is.

I miss using craigslist to find someone to fuck me. It was filled with fakes and flakes like any other site but I had my best cocks from it when I did find someone. What are people using now that craigslist is gone?

I've had more success with apps when I'm not in a big city.  Had zero luck with them in San Francisco (where I used to live) but have had some success when I'm up in the Sierras and now that I live in Reno. There are still many flakes, but it seems there are more guys that are willing to actually hook up. I think part of it might be the paradox of choice, the more choices that are available, the less likely someone is to make a decision and pick one of them.

BINGO!  It is the paradox of choice. The more choices are available, the less likely someone is to make a decision and pick one...

Go into a Trader Joe's or ALDI.  Prices are cheap, but the stores are very profitable.  Why?  Few choices.  Consumers pick the cereal and finish shopping. With too many sites and apps, guys continue shopping and shopping, never making a decision.

As time goes on online sites are becoming a necessary evil, well at least here in nyc of all places. Video stores are closing left and right and the few cruising places are filling up with overly  aggressive hustlers. I prefer cruising at the adult theatre and video stores because I can't host oh well

+1.

I set expectations low and am sometimes surprised.

Just 3 wks ago, I was about to sign off and head to bed when a cute 22yo slim & fit Japanese exchange student hit me up.  When he opened the door, he was just like  his pics, except cuter and no pants on :).  An hour later, my hands were grabbing his slim 28" waste, my raw dick was pumping his phat meaty ass, till I let out a loud moan and dumped a big load of cum up his hungry hole.  He said he had never felt the pumping sensation before in his ass.  Hehe.

So if you're on The Apps hours later and still nothing to show for it, it's time to (A) jack off or (B) head to bathouse, adult store, stalls, etc., if you weren't intending to go there already  heading there :)

Craigslist by far has delivered me the best steady stream of guys.   Grindr has the same guys on it that seem to use the app for entertainment, but I have had some minimum luck.   raigslist guys seem to turn into FWB also.

I don't know about the Craigslist in your city, but here in Texas they removed the personals. There is only missed connections now, nothing like men seeking men or any such category like that anymore. Not to many options here anymore.

That's everywhere in the USA because of FOSTA/SESTA.

I’m not that social so I love the apps. It’s so much easier to find tops who are interested when you can filter out everyone else. Before it was like I’d have to go through that “So what are you into?” conversation over and over.
