Why should it be creepy. Nothing is creepy or should be judged that’s based on two or more adult people’s consent.

With the front door standing wide-open, there's no question that you (and other passers-by) would be welcome.

Listen to your instincts. i had a scammer pull that on me, and it was pretty sophisticated.  Met a guy online, profile said 18. We were chatting online and He sent His phone number and we started texting... sexting really.  Then whoever it was said:  "I have a confession to make, promise you won't judge me."  i told him i wouldn't, and then he tells me he's really 17, but will be 18 in another month. Says he is living on his own with a room mate, and weaves a tale.  

i pulled back and told him i didn't judge him, that i knew what it meant to be a gay teen ager. i asked him about doing things with guys his own age, he said he only liked older, and i told him he was gonna have to wait till he was 18.  He continued to send naked pics, trying to engage. i changed the topic, trying to be supportive, but non sexual.... then he disappeared. 

The next day i got a call from a different number claiming to be a Sargent with a Fort Myers Florida police department.  Red flags went up (i'm trained on scamming techniques),  when asked if i was __________________, then asked me to confirm my address (which they had wrong). i told him i would not give out that information over the phone not knowing who he was. He said, i just told you who i am, then rattled of some numbers and said they were his badge number. Then proceeded to say that the guy talking to me parents had reported me and were coming in that afternoon, and he just wanted to clear it up if it was a misunderstanding. He was pretty good at being intimidating, he said if i would not cooperate that he'd have to swear out a warrant for my arrest.  I told him i hadn't done anything wrong and if he wanted my cooperation he'd have to send me his credentials so i could confirm he was who he said he was.  That never happened, and i put it together that it was just an elaborate scam.  i've encountered a lot of scammers online, but this was by far the most sophisticated.
