Call me "old fashioned" but there has to be something I find attractive about an individual. Don't get me wrong, I have spent plenty of time in bathhouses here in the US, especially in south Florida or in Philadelphia. When I said I need to find something "attractive" about an individual in THOSE locations, it is purely physical. What does he look like naked and does his sexual interests match what I am looking for. But I consider bathhouses pretty much anonymous, sure you might get in a few words there as opposed to an ABS, but still, it's not like meeting someone in a bar or a dance club. There is something to be said for the term "compatibility". So he may not be someone you see in a T.I.M video, but if you are looking for a relationship or someone to spend an extended period of time with, there are other things to consider like, is he a decent person, will he make you laugh, will you be compatible in bed (even if he isn't Sir Peter (if you are a bottom) or Andy Star (if you are a top). I don't think it's a matter of lowering your expectations, I think it's a matter of coming to grips with the reality that you are not going to be having sex 24/7 and you need to have something more in common. You are not the only one. I had the same situation. I live in Saint Petersburg, Fl, not Saint Petersburg, Russia. Some of these guys are young enough to be my son. They immediately start calling me "my love" and talking about getting travel documents. I initially agreed to give out my gmail account which was a mistake. I had met him on adam4adam, and then later he told me could not communicate that way, since he had created that account at a hotel he worked at. He eventually deleted that (along with the dick pics) and started sending black and white, g pics to my gmail account. When I told him I was NOT interested in a relationship with him, wow, did his tone change. It was as if I were talking to a different person, the entire previous conversations seemed to be scripted. But not the last one, that was nasty. Funny, I blocked him on gmail and maybe six months later, he created another gmail account, and contacted me. I didn't bother to even give him a second of my time, I just blocked him. It seems to be a recurring problem....

I have to say I agree with this completely. I don't go on Barebackrt.com to find my future husband. I used to laugh at things people posted on Adam4adam.com or dare I say Manhunt, where people were actually looking for boyfriends or partners. It is ridiculous, apps and hook up sites should, even discreetly, mention this is for guys who are looking for sex, not someone to make a life long commitment with. When I first used a site online, it was Men4Sexnow.com. I don't know if people still use it but that site was about sex, and at the time, it was very popular in my geographic area. I would hit refresh, refresh and actually be so arrogant if there was not a new message for me. Boy have times changed. But still today, I will go on various sites and people will be looking for romance, "in all the wrong places" so to speak. I did have a couple who wanted to "meet for drinks" off of Barebackrt.com. I was like WTF - drinks? No I can buy my own alcohol, I am looking for sex. I know some people want to make sure before they commit to hooking up that it's a "match" but I am not going to some bar to meet a couple, almost as if it is an audition for sex. Move it along guys, as some guys point out clearly, "we are all here for the same reason". However there are still people out there that just don't get it!

The fuckjoints have basically disappeared. The "Flamingo Resort", which was about a mile from where I first moved here, abruptly closed and was replaced by overpriced tiny apartments. You could cruise there, people came from all parts of the US during the winter months and during Pride. I suppose they were offered a dollar amount they could not say no to. That entire area, which had some run down motels where guys stayed who could not afford the Flamingo, have been filled with people who either can't afford the costs of renting an apartment or seem to be one step away from homelessness. Those motels are also being purchased, and have new apartment complexes being built in their place. The most popular bathhouse in Tampa, which was there for about 15 to 20 years, did not survive Covid as well and is closed. The one bar that came even close to having the type of activities that Ramrod is known for, called 2606 in Tampa, also remodeled and closed off it's play area. I don't believe it's open any longer. I can't honestly think of any bar in Saint Pete or Tampa where some kind of minor sexual activity could occur. There is one adult book store that had a back room, interesting it was right across the street from the "Flamingo Resort" closed it's back area during Covid, anytime I drive by the parking lot it is empty now, ABS still exist in Tampa, but that really doesn't interest me. There is one remaining bath house, but again, I have seen postings that there are few patrons. There is a cruise type of park near where I live, and many guys on Sniffies often post they are "hosting in their car" there. However, I know of individuals who have been "ticketed" by undercover police for having sex in vehicles. Since I don't wish to end up on the Florida Sexual Offenders list, I have declined invitations to play there. I've reported these profiles to management for solicitation and they have been taken down. It's funny, why would you be on one of these sites and want to meet a week from next Friday, it's nuts. I think A4A has an area that highlights "Looking for sex now", and generally you get a more prompt response. But of all the apps in my area, A4A has some of the more questionable individuals, who seem to be either totally fake profiles (i.e. "I am looking for a soulmate") to others where they ask you to pay for an Uber or some other kind of "reimbursement", as if the site was a part time job for them. I generally tell them to take the bus........that usually gets them to shut up.
