If you live on SSI or SSD for AIDS (and you contracted the disease in your 20s) your check is generally about $1,000 a month, but it does vary state by state. Your income up to the point you applied for disability benefits also comes into factor, if you had a high paying job you receive more. There is also other income you can receive from an employer who may have had a disability payment clause in an eployee's benefits package. When I say AIDS, I mean those who have been deemed eligible to receive SSD or SSI, not just someone who has tested positive. Now may I ask, who can live on $1,000 plus EBT in almost any part of the US? It's tough. I am just posting about the AIDS community, not about all those who receive EBT. Food panties can help supplement, but the most I have heard of any single man receiving SNAP benefits is about $298. Try buying groceries with that kind of budget. You take away SNAP and that person has some severe food insecurity.

Yes, starting in January I'll pay my max drug copay of $2,100. After that I won't pay for any of my meds for the rest of the year. For 26 my advantage plan is offering to spread the $2,100 out over the 12 months. -

Iāve had the same Blue Cross coverage through employer for 20 years. Two years ago diagnosed with AIDS and prescribed Biktarvy with my copay being 530.00 per month. January 2025 switched to Medicare with copay of 0.00 per month. -
Is that your drug copay or your Medicare coverage copay. Everyone on Medicare has a fee deducted from their social security every month that has nothing to do with their prescriptions

Iāve been diagnosed and undetectable since 2014. Iām about to begin Medicare in January. Iām really surprised that drug companies donāt offer discounts on copays when on Medicare like they do with commercial insurance. Today, I pay nothing as a copay. Starting in January, Iāll be paying $175 USD per month. This seriously cuts in on my social security funds. Is this also your experience? I would say I am lower middle class, but this seriously stings.
