The fact that my doctor wanted to refer me to an ID specialist was annoying since the doctor was an hour away. I was willing to deal with that because he told me he thought the other doctor could give me better care. The fact that he did not follow up to make sure that happened was what I found unprofessional.

I was chatting with a friend about this. For guys like me who had accepted that bareback was the only way I was going to play even if it meant turning poz, PrEP is just a life line with no real downside. I think the biggest resistance comes from guys who still use condoms routinely (or at least have convinced themselves that they do or will from now on they promise). They have so much invested in their condom usage and the badge of honor it is for them to still be negative because of it that the thought of letting go of it is too much to bear. I think it's a version of the Sunk Cost Fallacy. "I can't do something moving forward that will let me have sweet, sweet bareback sex because then I will have wasted all that time using condoms." -

True Stories From Your Own Life: If you want to talk about underage sex you had, you can write about it clinically. In other words, "I started taking loads at 16 in the men's room in the park" is fine, but giving a blow-by-blow account telling us how hot it was is not. If you want to talk about your experiences erotically, you need to write them as if you were 18+ when it happens. You can talk about "young guys" or "barely legal guys," that is fine. Just remain vague about the age.
