    The problem is not creating the space, but finding the guests. I've been to bathhouses and sex clubs around the world and they're all hit-or-miss. The most reliable in the U.S. are Slammers in Fort Lauderdale and CCBC in Palm Springs. Even Cumunion in New York, a city of 8.5 million people, has some very slow nights.

    Those have to be Asian (probably Indian) prices. Ordering from those places make me nervous. There's no FDA (or equivalent) oversight and you have no idea what's in them.

    Not until I started PrEP in my early 40s. I had lots of sex, occasionally bare, but never had a boyfriend so I never got bred.

    Before I went on PrEP I would bareback occasionally with regular fuckbuds, but I never came in them or (to my knowledge) had them cum in me. Now that I'm on PrEP I pretty much only hookup with guys looking to breed and be bred. As status is always acknowledged beforehand, it is not an issue.

    The real question is, have people changed because of the AIDS crisis, or are there just more people who are out, including more conservative views of casual sex? I know a lot of guys (most?) who would never consider going in PrEP, even though their insurance covers it and would never dream of going to a bathhouse. They may hookup on occasion, but it's infrequent and highly selective. I don't think those people would have done much in 70s.

    There's a documentary called Gay Sex in the 70s. I rented it from Amazon years ago. It has interviews with original participants who describe what it was like.

    I think it more 1970s and a natural extension of the leather scene. The fetish is for hyper-masculine, blue collar types like cops, construction workers and bikers. As chaps are both leather and assless it's an obvious choice.

    I don't let former safe buddies know since I started PrEP. I tried with a couple of them and they didn't take it well, even in New York where it seems like the whole city is on PrEP. Now I have PrEP on all of my profiles and assume new tricks will figure it out.

    Everyone is picky to a certain degree, which can make one-on-ones tricky if you're not young or really ripped. That's why I prefer groups and sex clubs.

    That's a big if. I went last night and there were only 100 people. Fucked a few guys but not nearly as many as I was hoping for.

    I found surprisingly little sex in Vegas. The locals were all looking of relationships and not interested in hook ups with tourists. Fort Lauderdale is an option, but further for you than Palm Springs.
