I'm certainly not against a more equitable (population-wise) distribution of health care opportunities. When a state-sponsored health care program is controlled for a balance of cost-to-benefits ratio, every participating citizen knows well in advance what their own situation happens to be, and could become. That said, when a state-sponsored health care program, with citizens suddenly denied their earned, expected care, is simply taken away, that is indefensible. Food stamps, for example, is something the less fortunate have depended on for years. Regardless of whether one believes it is a faulty program or a good one, the fact remains that citizens have become accustomed to that program to help the less fortunate keep food on the table. Yanking that out of the clear blue sky is nothing less than cruel and indefensible. Regarding medical care, when decades of promised health care assistance is yanked, that leaves the ill, the elderly in an undeserved situation. I'm assuming the system in South Korea would fit the above parameters, and the onus of maintaining that system falls upon the current government's shoulders. An established governmental assistance program of any type cannot simply be halted, simply because the government decides to spend money on something else. That's nothing short of an abomination.
