It's been enlightening reading this section. VerbalBTTM, you write eloquently. I experienced and lived through some of the events you touched on. You were able to capture not just the pain we went through but also the things that gave us hope and strength. Because of rising use of sex apps and social media as well as the decline in places for gay men to meet, I don't know that the younger generation will ever understand nor appreciate much of what we lived through.

More, give a little time out of your life to march, protest. Remember Act Up? Do it. It'll not only make you feel great, it'll count for something. Civil actions are always noticed by those pols that need to know they're on the wrong path. Simply google the word "protests", and you'll find one or three that make sense to you. Take part in the process. Be a part of change. It won't make you feel better than too much raw sex (like there is such a thing), but it'll definitely make you smile a bit more.
