    I think it's personal taste and I also think it's cultural. As the owner of a big, firm, round ass, I can tell you that it is much more appreciated in Latin countries (Italy, Spain, Portugal etc).     I haven't read all the posts in this thread but I will say this. I don't have a problem with the use of the word if both parties agree to it. But clear it first! Most non-blacks don't realize that black people have to be careful WITH EACH OTHER when using this word. Say for example there is a difference in skin tone, education, income or social status and a black person says that to another. Or if the tone in your voice is all wrong. That's almost a guaranteed beatdown. There are so many other words to choose from so why choose one that is so potentially offensive?

Data protection laws vary from country to country and I just assume that if it's recorded someplace, it can legally or illegally be shared. Besides, I heard firsthand from someone applying for a green card in the US that they ask all kinds of personal questions. And maybe they can't legally deny you on the HIV issue, but there's plenty of other ways to skin a cat. :-(
