I think it's personal taste and I also think it's cultural. As the owner of a big, firm, round ass, I can tell you that it is much more appreciated in Latin countries (Italy, Spain, Portugal etc). I haven't read all the posts in this thread but I will say this. I don't have a problem with the use of the word if both parties agree to it. But clear it first! Most non-blacks don't realize that black people have to be careful WITH EACH OTHER when using this word. Say for example there is a difference in skin tone, education, income or social status and a black person says that to another. Or if the tone in your voice is all wrong. That's almost a guaranteed beatdown. There are so many other words to choose from so why choose one that is so potentially offensive?

Thanks bonsaisai for sharing that story. It sent a chill up my spine because Singapore was on the short list of countries that I was thinking about. The consequences would have been massive. Data protection laws vary from country to country and I just assume that if it's recorded someplace, it can legally or illegally be shared. After reading this, I am even having second thoughts about flying to certain countries with my meds in my hand luggage without a doctor's note. Boy have I been living under a rock.
