Can't believe I missed this one, or maybe only read the first few chapters. Truly ART! Just finished part 20, and I've really admired nuance in the different attitudes of the characters to HIV over the last 4 or 5 chapters. Excellently done!

Got up this morning at 10-ish and popped on to Grindr while I was brewing the coffee, since it's a weekend and many of the guys in the area seem to be more likely to be looking. You can get 20-30 characters or so into a QR code without trouble. Beyond that you need a pretty big one to encode the info. Though you can make web addresses very short these days, because of abbreviated address providers. However, I'd vote against QR code. The last thing you want is to encourage people under 35 to pick up their phones. You want their attention firmly on the task at hand. Pun intended.

^^^ So much this! I am coming up on 4 years in my current place in a small town in eastern West Virginia. It's a cute and gay-friendly town, but except for visiting tourists, it's always the same dozen faces, and I've already done the three of them where there's a mutual interest (none of those turned out to be lasting, but I have a long-distance BF elsewhere). The nearest major metro is DC, with a pretty happening gay scene and just close enough that I can see some of the guys there on the usual apps, especially bbrt. It is 106 miles from my apartment to Crew Club (chosen as a reference point), which with traffic is about 2 hours. Each way. I have been to DC for sex exactly twice in those 4 years.

@Shotsfired mentioned in another thread the appearance of a new Syphilis variant, I'd like to have more information about this, as I had not heard of it before. I did some Googling but was unable to find anything that matched that description. Were you referring to the Finnish variant that appeared around 2019?

Been ages (longer than I even care to mention) since I did RPGs - tabletop through secondary school, then LARP all the way through college (enough that my grades suffered perceptibly for it, though sex might also have had something to do with that). TSo I looked again, and after flipping through a slice of the IAFD all the way from A to S, I did find him - that's Johnny Oliver aka Sam Swift. He was in Lucasfilms' Hard and Wet back in 2011 and a lot of smaller-name stuff around that same time (2006-2013 or so). I could cum buckets just looking at his face, and his body is about perfect for me, too, at least in that shot. The biohazard tatt is just icing on the cake.

Sounds like sex with men opened the doorway to something else... Intimacy with men. In my (not particularly humble) opinion, people's gender programming for emotional intimacy is every bit as varied and flexible as their gender programming for sexual arousal. Furthermore, the two don't necessarily match up. My sex drive is mostly (not exclusively) male oriented (call it "gay with a dash of pansexual"), but my emotional drive is pretty much gender-neutral. Then if you want to make it even more complicated, you can throw monogamy vs polyamory into the mix - and those, too, can be separately oriented for relationships and for sex... So, what it means to finally have intimate feelings for another man is whatever the feeling is for you. Another part of the amazing human being that you are. Enjoy it! Share it! Celebrate it!

While I understand the thrill that can be had from a totally anonymous scene, most of the time I prefer to exchange face pics. Not so much to identify ("know"?) the person, but because a big chunk of my sexual response is visual, and a lot more of that has to do with the face than any other body part. If key facial features are right, I can go apeshit over guys that I otherwise would not give a second glance, and that translates directly to sexual enjoyment and performance. Side note, smell used to be really important for me also, but my sense in that department was badly damaged about 15 years ago and now that's no longer true.

I'll second that recommendation 100% But I'll also add: By using that education to make an informed decision (as opposed to an alarmed decision) about what you want to do. I say this because while there are many, many dangers in this world, an awful lot of them (including the risk of illness from STIs) are risks that are worth taking (or at least many people think they are). Only you can be the judge for you... but there is no such thing as perfect safety on this side of the grave.

For BZ folk who are comfortable with taking poz loads without PrEP, this is an opportunity to use that willingness to benefit others by participating in trials. Consider it! Given the numbers enrolled, I think it's still in Phase I, but they will be needing many more volunteers if it advances.
