On Friday got a call from the Sexual Health Clinic that my results were back and everything was OK. Today Monday I got a call from the specialist to offer me an appointment for this Thursday to discuss PrEP. All I need to bring is a list of medications and my Health Card.

Canada is a wonderful country! Same-sex marriage, medical marijuana and soon its legalization. And now getting PrEP seems fairly easy. My insurance would probably cover it once it's prescribed by a Dr. It HIV blood test comes back poz, then obviously no PrEP. I've never been a huge fan of PrEP because I don't find it to be a good sustainable solution for STD prevention. It only protects against HIV, long term side effects not really known and many times financially inaccessible. But on my last STD checkup the Dr who did the examination suggested I go on PrEP. But now my concern is that I'm on Methotrexate for to inflammatory arthritis which is now under control and I have no pain. So the Methotrexate is working. Same here. I'm not having much sex partly because of HIV. I can't see myself on PrEP in a long-term basis because I wouldn't be able to justify taking the drugs if I'm not having enough sex.
