Any advice for singles in the time of COVID-19

I'm finding that I've reached my personal limit of getting any real arousal from porn, be it fiction, videos or images. I've tried a couple of chatrooms and c2c but a sporadic internet connection doesn't make a genuine connection. Combined with the overarching news about COVID-19 being 95% depressing I'm finding stretches of time when I'm slipping into a depressed state.

Things I am doing to avoid this:

1. Talking about it: one of the insidious things about depression is that the onset can be very slow and subtle. That's not the case here so I'm making a point to talk to (distant) friends about how I feel and asking how they're doing.

2. Exercise:  Walking outside (practicing the required social distancing) is a significant  help for me. The key here is getting off my backside and getting it going.  Once I start it's enjoyable but depression tends to act to stop the thought turning into action. So I've set a reminder about going for a walk and switched on the sedentary setting on my watch so it lets me know if I've been sitting still for too long.

3. Eating sensibly:  It's very easy to sit and snack so I've not got any snackables. Putting weight on is a real downer and I've managed to gradually lose weight over the last six years so I have a personal incentive to avoid putting on more than a kg.

4. Limiting how much news I follow: This is proving hard to do but we're now in a new world and the changes seem to have stopped coming every hour so I'm trying to limit just how much time I spend on news sites and limit myself to CBC for Canada and BBC for the world.

Does anyone have other suggestions for singles in the time of COVID-19 on avoiding depression?

Try to enjoy watching spring as it unfolds. I think nature is great therapy, and it doesn’t stop no matter what is going on in the world.  This whole situation is shit, but it has come at a good time of year, for those of us in the northern hemisphere at least.  Many of us have a lot more time on our hands this year, so we can really make some space to appreciate the ever-changing natural world around us.

If you can, get some seeds and grow something.  Even if you don’t have access to any outside space, you can still plant some seeds indoors, and nurture one or two choice specimens.  It can be really absorbing, and take your mind off what’s going on out there.  I understand Vancouver has a great climate, so use it to your advantage!

I’m a gardener, so I would say that, wouldn’t I?  But even if you have little interest in nature or plants, give it a go: you never know what you might discover about yourself.

Like you Van, I'm almost overloaded now on porn, online sites, etc.  Yet I am so fucking horned that I don't know what to do.  Haven't been fucked in 3 weeks now.  I stopped my PrEP 3 days ago since it's expensive and 'what's the point?'  But now I'm seriously thinking of breaking isolation and hooking up with one or two regular FBs.  I'm sure it's the same for the rest of you but this need to be bred is overwhelming my sensibilities.  Well I guess sex has led me my entire life, dragging me along by my tits.

I have started gardening, growing plants from seeds.

Baking bread, cakes and home made soups.

Lol, am I gay or what?

I have also started my family tree and chatted with distant unknown relatives.

Oh and spent time on here, wank x 2 daily and use my spunk and put it up my arse, i miss that feeling, but it works for me.

All in the same boat, my arse will be free once all this is over.

Take care all.

All of this isolation has got me thinking a lot more, I guess.  I mean I was no saint before (some might say 'slut' when possible), but I've made a commitment to myself.  Once this self-isolation is over with I'm going to host a gangbang breeding gathering for me at one of the Hollywood motels.  I see them all the time on BBRT, and would post the same (or anywhere else someone might recommend).  I know I'm big and older now, but still fulfill very needed services for hard Alpha tops.  And I love groups, everyone getting lost in the moment.  My question is:  I've never partied and played before, and in fact no little about it.  Whenever someone mentions X or Tina or other, I have to look them up.  I do do pot and poppers, both of which can take me to a special space, especially while being fucked.  Anyone have any advice?  I'm not looking to try something that I'll get hooked on and can't afford.  But have read and heard so many great stories about bottoms who P&P and have a phenomenal time.  Thanks for any info and in the meantime, be well stay safe and, OINK!

Advice is stay home alone, jerk off, garden, go for a solitary walk, organize your home and finances and jerk off some more.

lol, yep, my garden and house have never looked this good.  So far i have installed a tiled walk in shower,  weeded and prepped all 9 of my 4x10 raised cedar garden beds. Strawberries and raspberries are in. Started Tomatoes, peppers, cokes and squash indoors and am dying for the threat of frost to pass so i can plant them. All my doors got 2 coats of paint.

It's like the gay gods are helping us get stuff done around the house, knowing normally we'd be out looking for Men. sigh.

i also seem to be one of those rare gay guys who likes to write and communicate through writing.  Frankly, i love the build up of sexual tension that can happen writing back and forth to a guy and having to delay sex. It's sort of like intellectual and emotional edging. i LOVE getting to know a guy and am finding there are a lot more open to it now since they have fewer choices.

I realize these may be somewhat out of context, but you were a little vague about what you use your spunk for in addition to putting it up your ass... 🤔

I’ve always been going to buy one of those. Let us know please if you’d recommend purchasing one after it’s “bred” you 😛

Hey.  I too am isolated by myseexperiencingsimilar things.  And I discovered that responding to it the way you talk about is very helpful.
