We probably all should take a moment in this discussion of Asian men to be sure we think of them as people and not as stereotypes. I think BB4fking and ErosWired were right with their comments on stereotypes and generalizing. I’m sorry that my original post and my follow up questions sounded generalizing and objectifying. That wasn’t my intention. 

One of the reasons why I wanted to write my original post was the frustration I’ve felt over the years when it comes to the representation of Asian guys in western gay porn and the gay community itself. 

Asia is a huge continent with a lot of different countries, cultures, languages and ethnicities. And - of course - different individuals.

However, I have the feeling that when it comes to the portrayal of Asian guys in particular, especially in porn, it’s very one-sided in many cases. 

In most interracial porn where an Asian guy is involved, that guy would usually be portrayed as a very feminine and submissive bottom, in many cases from Thailand, who is getting fucked by a white top. As if this was the only thinkable constellation and if Asia was only Thailand.
