I don't use Grindr, but on most sites if there is absolutely nothing compatible in our profiles I just ignore it. If there is compatibility, I usually respond back with a "hey" and see where it goes. If it evolves into endless messaging without confirming they want to hookup and fuck, want to "hookup" and not fuck (actually the most common where I live), or are pursuing a bug chasing fantasy, I will politely tell them "no" and if they can't accept that block them. -
For the most part it is too much work for me. They do get some guys during the week and other than Tuesday night, it is a crowd that is more inclined to fuck than they get on the weekends, but still attracts mostly posers. They are currently open until 11 on week nights. I personally avoid Tuesday nights, that is their "Radical Drub Down" night, which usually draws a large crowd, I haven't been in many years but the few times I did guys weren't at all shy about telling you it was a night for platonic massage not fucking.

I might have agreed with you before living here. They are lonely and scouting for guys to meet up with and not have sex later. I've tried meeting back up with these guys, in the belief that they will eventually come around to the idea that they will eventually come around to the idea of having sex, but they never do. Your definition fits with the 3rd definition: power cuddling is everything cuddling is with the addition of hooking up at the same time. I strongly suspect what they are looking for based on the interests listed and described in their profile is the 2nd: intense all night cuddle and I would also guess they are not interested in the vigorous fucking.

Actually there are guys looking for those activities as both tops and bottoms, that specially eschew all forms of penile penetration. They definitely fit the definition being pushed by the "sides". The bathhouse doesn't post any specific restrictions, however some of the patrons try to limit the activities to platonic massage. I'm in my 50's, but am in somewhat the same mindset with regards to monkeypox. I was starting to enjoy a lot of post COVID sex when this hit, in fact I finally took a long awaited post COVID sexcation a month and a half ago. My reaction to cuddling is very similar to @ErosWired so I am pretty likely to avoid it. I'm fully versatile, but I love fucking outdoors with an audience and have no issue with inviting others to join in.
