  1. Fretting when we're allowed to send private messages and or click on "reaction" icons won't help. Relaxing and participating on BZ will help. Do what you can and be patient. The message is clear, it will happen when it happens and the heuristics are intentionally closed. FWIW, for myself anyway, impatient guys on prox aps wind up getting blocked when they push too hard like that. There are much more enjoyable ways to be a PITA than fretting.
  2. I keep a variety of hoods and eye coverings in my dungeon that a guy can wear if he wants his face obscured in an vids or photos we might take.
  3. A4A is nearly useless, at least here in Wisconsin. And my security software is always knocking down the host of spam and malware that comes free with any login. I tried Recon for just a short time, and once again my security software found it rife with issues. Grindr seems unstable but I'll reserve judgement as I seem to be in the minority and as my mobile device is absolute crap (replacement in process). Scruff actually works pretty well for me here in the midwest. BBRT of course ia old reliable. We all know why we're there. 🙂
  4. @fskn Sexy man you're welcome to drool in my open mouth anytime....
  5. Welcome @vikiing8x6 and @a6uldeve84u. I'm sure @drscorpio can use a break. Thanks for doing this guys.
  6. I've been on Descovy for six months now. Starting had not side effects that I noticed. And I agree, I like my in person time with my provider.
  7. @BootmanLA I don't think there is a conflict here. Barebacksclje described it in his nature. But later on he is referring to "bareback sluts" in general. In the larger group certainly there are guys who are and guys who choose.
  8. Let's hope when all is said and done the punishment is directly on Putin, and less on the country of Russia who was abused by their dictator who was not fairly elected.
  9. I must be missing something. Why would your answer be disappointing? It echos well the majority of posts in the Whats it like to be Poz section of BZ. Substitute any other infection and would one still be chasing if they can avoid? Sure, yes of course, some would inexplicably do that. But at this point in AIDS history; it just makes no sense.
  10. Of course "protection" is subjective. So TasP, PrEP, the pill, IUD, condoms might all fall under the broad heading of "protection".
  11. I hate that too. Just had that conversation with someone last night in fact. But, expecting people to use or not use certain words is futile. There will come a time for this guy and I to have that conversation; in person; when we can calmly and effectively discuss the history and background. I decided to roll with his questions; give him some reliable foundation information about STI's, PrEP and testing (none of which he knew). We can work on the PC part later...
  12. I certainly agree that a responsible provider will do as you suggest @BootmanLA. However, it is equally true that each of us is responsible for our own health and should not need mommy to remind us. A responsible patient will make sure the follow-up appointment is set if the provider (or the providers office person) doesn't.
  13. More of my playmates identify themselves as straight (which might be influenced by my rural location). I think the natural nature of men is at a minimum sexually bi. They would not want to marry their own gender, but will often play with their gender. The notion though that we can by our awesome sexual prowess change someone from straight to gay, or gay to straight is fantasy and/or wishful thinking.
  14. LOL well we like to think that right? But, for example, my husband thinks of head as "meh" (and I have a few hundred guys who rave about my oral talents). Fortunately we are open sexually and I can give and get all the head I want (pretty much, especially considering my rural location).
  15. You Florida guys do have spring break coming up soon....
  16. Actually that really isn't incest. Fun though...
  17. @Horus73 You don't give a location. But if you happen to be in or near Wisconsin PM me?
  18. Yes, I think it was a huge loss. Somehow the far right just wasn't having it. The last shut down under the guise of covid precaution (and at that point there were just a handful left). I agree with you; a dick pic would be more informative. I always liked the pot luck of ABS arcade booths where one got whatever cock was there. I totally loved those visits. Indeed totally NOT "GH Open, just not for you" that one might see. Here in my home dungeon, if I could put out an open house sort of thing and knew there would actually be guys showing up, I would do it. How do you think it might go over if I posted on my Scruff or Grindr profile something like "GH open Wednesday noon to four; no cock refused. Contact me for location". I would still have to answer the door and bring them down to the dungeon; but they can go pee while I get in the booth. (yeah yeah, I know, they could pee while I'm in the booth). 🙂
  19. This might depend on where on the planet one is located. Here in Wisconsin all the old "public" glory holes are gone. I created my private one which is well used when we host group parties. For private sessions I do want a face pic, not because I care what a guy looks like, but someone is going to come to the door and I want to know who I am looking for. Living in a small town in rural America is very different than living in a city even like Milwaukee, which is hugely different than SFO or LA.
  20. It's been many years since I moderated here on BZ and clearly the underpinning software has changed. But moderators, if it is possible to untangle the interesting but off topic political part of this thread to a different place I know I and others would appreciate it. Thanks BTW, I definitely appreciate your work here.
  21. This has been a really helpful thread. I got a hold of the old ARCW (now Vivint) here in Wisconsin in November 2021 and indeed, they figured they could help me get on a low cost PrEP. I had not een on PrEP since early 2016 when I went on Medicare and just could not afford a drug plan that provided Truvada (which is what was out at the time). I did all the intake and testing steps and when it finally came to prescription the PA decided Descovy would be a wiser choice for me given my medical history. When the pharmacy of that organization called me they said I could get it for $700 a month. I thanked the pharmacist but told them there was no way I could afford such a plan and to just forget the whole thing; thank you very much. We ended the call and I thought that was the end of it. Another pharmacist called me back a short while later and suggested perhaps Truvada could be less and offered that. I replied, sure no problem depending on how much. That ended that call. When I talked to them about Truvada cost I said if they could deliver for 20 or 30 a month that would not be a problem for me; but hundreds per month was not going to be workable no matter what. (to answer a question I know will be out there, in this area HIV meds are free. So if I did convert to poz my costs would be covered. I certainly didn't mind a premium to not get HIV in the first place.) About two hours after that they called back with a plan; Descovy for $0 copay. So I was pretty happy they found a way. My meds are mailed to me once a month and all I have to do is verify receipt in their system and it'll keep coming. I am grateful I went, and while there were a few hours of doubt that I would be able to get back on PrEP; I wasn't in a panic about it.
