How to Find Fun in Rural Areas

Hi everyone,

Long time sidelines reader of the short stories on this forum. I've almost completely stopped watching porn and just read the short stories here instead. Totally my scene. 🙂

However, I haven't really had the courage to break through and become the total pig of my fantasies yet. Part of it is that I live in Seattle and the gay scene feels very uptight here. How can I make the last part happen? Last time I traveled through rural parts by myself, I used Craigslist and actually had decent luck with it. Personally I would pick states other than WA and ID, I would skip OR too.  I live just outside of Portland now, but the Pacific Northwest is probably the worst place to find guys (or girls) for spontaneous no strings hookups.  I do get to travel for work and have reconciled to the fact that I can't get the kind of sex I love here, but can get it on the road.  I do think you could have some luck in MT and WY, you may also want to consider CO, UT, NV and northern CA.  If you figure out which apps work well post it, my recent experience is that all of them have been taken over by the guys looking for relationships rather than hookups.

First step is to do the research online. One site I like is Squirt.org because they have a section of cruising places by Country, etc. A profile in Barebackrt is also a good idea so you can search profiles in the different places you plan to visit.

In the Apps based on Geo-location the guys seems to be always the same, so Apps like Grindr work better when you are traveling because you will always be fresh meat, no matter the place you visit. Obviously, the chances for,...I'll let you say it.

I've given you some advice regarding research and some websites. Others will give you other tips.

It's not just Seattle / Washington.  Just last week, my hubby & I were camping with str8 couple.  She somehow blurted out that women "squirting" was faked pee.  I said, "but I've seen videos 😄 ..."  Well, her guy shut that conversation down really quick.  Ugh!  Americans can be uptight, whether on apps or in-person.

Your experiences are mostly with str8/bi guys? 

Lots of guys here say try in-person (so a bar) but it's hard for me to hit on or "read" str8/bi guys in-person, even ones that know I'm gay.  And every public spot that I visit gets shut down by police around here, but YMMV.

Try Doublelist & Grindr.  Ones that are horny & serious get right to the point.  And they'll like that you're just passing thru -- no strings! 🙂

Maybe "ABS"?   i've found adult stores to he a great way to hook in rural areas, rest stops as well.  Of course that was pre Covid, haven't been to one since Covid started, but i imagine they are starting to open up again more recently. i've also had much more success with aps like Grindr in rural areas than in cities. Maybe also check out Squirt. i've been on Squrit for years and it has the local cruising areas listed.  my experience is cruising areas are far better for hookup than aps are. Aps mostly get in the way of sex in my experience.

1. how hot you are
2. how picky you are
3. how versatile you are
4. how flexible you are with hosting and traveling
