MJ's wife runs a counseling business. i would not be surprised to learn that MJ is a repressed gay and his wife is his ally in his fight against being homosexual. Yes, i'm speculating, but many would be surprised at how common this is in fundamentalist circles. They do not believe there is such a thing as being gay, in their counseling against gays they frequently equate it to alcoholism (not kidding here). 'HuffPost reports that Kelly Johnson, the spouse of the newly elected Speaker, runs a counseling business that in its operating documents compares being gay to, among other things, having sex with a family member or animal. Specifically, Onward Christian Counseling Services’ 2017 operating agreement states: “We believe and the Bible teaches that any form of sexual immorality, such as adultery, fornication, homosexuality, bisexual conduct, bestiality, incest, pornography or any attempt to change one’s sex, or disagreement with one’s biological sex, is sinful and offensive to God.” The Speaker, who previously practiced law, notarized the document, and his signature appears on the last page. The company’s website is no longer accessible online" [think before following links] https://www.vanityfair.com/news/2023/10/mike-johnson-kelly-johnson-onward-christian-counseling-services

"The Mike Johnson hits keep on coming — in early October, the soon-to-be speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives took part in a “prayer call” in which he said American culture was “dark and depraved,” partly because so many young people identify as “something other than straight.” The call took place October 3, just hours before Rep. Kevin McCarthy was ousted as speaker and three weeks before Johnson, a Republican from Louisiana, was elected to succeed him. It was first reported this week by Rolling Stone and has been picked up by other media outlets. It was hosted by Jim Garlow, cofounder of the World Prayer Network and founder and CEO of Well Versed, a Christian right organization. “The culture is so dark and depraved that it almost seems irredeemable at this point,” Johnson said on the call, which was posted on the Well Versed websitethe following day. Among the signs of this are that church attendance has dropped below 50 percent and that “one in four high school students identified as something other than straight,” he said, putting air quotes around “straight.” “We’re losing the country,” he added. He said he believes God will lead the U.S. through what he considers a crisis, even though the situation merit's God's wrath" [think before following links] https://news.yahoo.com/mike-johnson-u-dark-depraved-204710159.html?.tsrc=daily_mail&uh_test=0_00 Stay tuned. In another recent comment MJ noted how Americas leaders placed in leadership by "God," (a common fundamentalist belief). They believe they are in position to do 'God's work,' not represent the people. Many of these would not hesitate to be 'the instrument of' "God's wrath."

idk. Reading through this thread, i begin to wonder if "side" is yet another piece to the sexual culture evolution puzzle? There's nothing like a new term to evoke our staid feelings of what is (or what should be?). For those old enough to remember, imagine the responses before transpeople became more visible? i have to agree (though i think we can do without the moral superiority) that we need to treat each individual with respect, even if they are not what we want or need. To me, as society becomes more and more digital, hookup sites are the gay bars of yesterday. It doesn't feel right to me to hang a sign on the door that says: "we don't serve your kind here?" To me, "side" is yet another descriptor to add to the list along with Top, bottom, versatile. Why not? i don't approach other bottoms (no matter how much i may love them) because we do not want the same thing. If someone identifies as "side" and i don't wanna cuddle, but wanna get fucked, i simply won't approach them.

Did you ever write your advert for sex on a toilet wall
tallslenderguy replied to a topic in General Discussion
OMG, as a repressed gay teen, i spent hours in restroom reading the messages on stall walls, just sitting there and being amongst my people lol. No, seriously, i did. Those who did not grow up in an era of repression, where being gay and fucking could get you arrested and charged with a felony, may think it weird that we had sex in restrooms (read: "in hiding"). -
Fundamentalism is truly a mind fuck (not the good kind), it's the essence of cults. It took me 35 years to process out of it cleanly. i quip: "being gay saved me from 'God.'" That rankles fundamentalists, but if there is a "God," then that God knows what we went through to try to do it the fundamentalist way. What saved me was trying for 35 years to be what i was conditioned to believe "God" wanted, and it didn't work. There was no changing the way i am. I.e., the reality of who and how i am could not be changed by the fundamentalist ideas of what i 'should' be.

Editorial excerpt written by Amanda Marcotte in Salon "I suspect Johnson dodged a government shutdown because he really is, as Gaetz put it, "MAGA Mike." The endless and mostly fruitless battles to force Democrats into budget cuts aren't Johnson's motivation for getting out of bed in the morning. Sure, he claims to want the same spending cuts that Republicans always want. But his heart's not in it, and he's happier dragging the topic back to his personal priority: forcing his rigid religious beliefs on everyone else. He has actually argued, for instance, that a national abortion ban would soon produce enough "able-bodied workers" to "cover the bases of Social Security and Medicare and Medicaid." "It's not that Republicans have entirely given up on slashing taxes and spending. If they regain control over the Senate and the White House next year, we can certainly expect more tax cuts for the rich and further slashing of social programs ordinary people rely on. But by electing a House speaker who is a culture warrior first and a "small government" ideologue second (if at all), Republicans have signaled an important shift in priorities. They're not much interested in investing political capital in widely unpopular government shutdowns. Their energies are shifting towards the cultural preoccupations of the MAGA base: Banning abortion, gutting LGBTQ rights, undermining racial equality, and generally seeking revenge against disadvantaged groups, liberals and people who went to college. The switch from McCarthy to Johnson was never about the budget fight. It was about MAGA's final conquest of the Republican Party." These guys live in a different world from the non fundamentalist population. Most of us, almost instinctively, understand that a father does not make himself sexually accountable to his 17 year old kid. But that is exactly what Mike Johnson is doing. Having been raised in this BS, i know it well. Here's a sample of what MJ means when he says: "...go pick up a Bible off your shelf and read it. That’s my worldview." Spoken like a true ethno/ego centric. His presumption is that anyone reading the bible will come away with the same 'worldview,' despite the plethora evidence of denominations with all their different interpretations of the bible. I.e., there is no standard "worldview" derived from reading the bible. MJ is fundamentalist. That approach to religion is, in my opinion, what makes him and his ilk so very dangerous. Views like the above "War on Technology" and "accountability software" are prime examples of MJ's views that he would impose on the "world" if given the power to do so. MJ thinks we all need "accountability" to his notions of "God."

Surprised no one has mentioned this yet... but as a bottom, the best way for me to cum is from getting fucked/bred. Only happened a few times for me, but when it has, it's the best orgasm ever.

As many here have read, i was married (to a woman) till 2008. While i was still processing out of religious conditioning that disallowed being gay, i had an ongoing fantasy of a Man Who would kidnap me and spirit me away to His secret lair where He'd do all manner of things to/with me. Of course, it was my fantasy, so everything He did just happened to be what i wanted/needed. Now that i am free from the conditioning, and have been free to pursue sex, that fantasy has gone dormant for me. The challenge of the above scenario for me would be: "He would do anything you wanted" At this point in my life, sex is largely about finding Men or a Man Who wants what i want. Go down the list of "anything" and, for me, it's all contingent on Him wanting it as much or more as i do.

"SPEAKER OF THE House Mike Johnson admitted that he and his son monitored each other’s porn intake in a resurfaced clip from 2022. During a conversation on the “War on Technology” at Benton, Louisiana’s Cypress Baptist Church — unearthed by X user Receipt Maven last week — the Louisiana representative talked about how he installed “accountability software” called Covenant Eyes on his devices in order to abstain from internet porn and other unsavory websites. “It scans all the activity on your phone, or your devices, your laptop, what have you; we do all of it,” Johnson told the panel about the app. “It sends a report to your accountability partner. My accountability partner right now is Jack, my son. He’s 17. So he and I get a report about all the things that are on our phones, all of our devices, once a week. If anything objectionable comes up, your accountability partner gets an immediate notice. I’m proud to tell ya, my son has got a clean slate.” " [think before following links] https://www.rollingstone.com/politics/politics-news/mike-johnson-son-monitor-porn-intake-covenant-eyes-1234870634/

"The second-in-line to the presidency informed Americans on Tuesday that their time-honored conception of one of the founding principles of the country was a “misunderstanding”. Speaking to CNBC’s Squawk Box, he tried to turn the conventional wisdom about the founders’ intentions on its head and claimed what they really wanted was to stop government interfering with religion, not the other way around. “The separation of church and state is a misnomer,” the speaker said in an interview with the TV channel from the US Capitol. “People misunderstand it. Of course, it comes from a phrase that was in a letter that Jefferson wrote. It’s not in the constitution.” Johnson was referring to Thomas Jefferson’s letter to the Danbury Baptists Association of Connecticut, written in 1802 when the third president was in the White House. It makes clear that the founding fathers subscribed to a powerful separation of church and state, which they enshrined in the establishment clause of the first amendment. Jefferson in his letter quotes the establishment clause saying that Congress should “make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof”. He goes on to say that it builds “a wall of separation between Church & State”." i don't get annoyed, but it does tell me something about the Top that needs further discussion for me. Conversely, there are a lot of guys identifying as bottoms who have cock profile pics. i've learned that for myself identifying as bottom, it's more about the orgasm. i've had a FB for almost 4 years now Who breeds me a couple times a week. More recently, last year or so, He's gotten into sucking me. Something i never thought i would do, and generally don't with other guys. For me, i think it works because while we've fucked 100's of times over the years, He has never once made me orgasm from stimulating my penis. His sucking my penis really just makes me hornier for His Cock. Nor has He ever cum anywhere but in my ass, even though i suck Him for a long time, it's more like foreplay and it works for us. On the other hand, if i'm looking at hook up sex with someone i don't know, i'm not going to get sucked or have my penis touched without first knowing why and what He wants when doing that. If he wants me to have a cock, it's not going to work. If He's using my penis to make me more hungry for His cock and cum? That works. So, depends on why He wants the pic.

i guess we're not talking side of beef here? i haven't had to deal with this. It strikes me as funny though. Sort of like drive thru: "would you like fries with that." To me, a 'side' is something you have along with the main course, not something one makes a meal out of.

Your response strikes me as a deflection from the fact that an NIH ongoing medical education paper identifies PDE5's as vasodilators. You argue eloquently but don't provide substantiation for your assertion that "It's NOT correct to call them vasodilators, because that term has a specific medical, pharmacological meaning." The National Institute of Health disagrees with you. So far, you have cited nothing, just assertions, speculations and extrapolations based on what you have apparently read. Your arguments almost always impress me, and i'd happily suck your cock 🙂, but as someone who administers these drugs on a regular basis, i'm going to side with the NIH on this one. i appreciate and agree with a lot of what you say (even say as much in one of my responses). i "actually" read a lot of research and also have a great deal of experience administering drugs like vasodilators, as well as dealing with their effects in my patients. All eight of those vasodilators listed are complex and have varied effects on individuals. Give a beta blocker or calcium channel blocker to one person (we usually give those for heart rate or dysrhythmia, and their BP drops like a rock as a side effect. Give the same drug to another and there will be no appreciable change in BP. We monitor both BP though, because we don't know for sure till we try. i know of no drug that has one effect only. Human physiology is an infinite universe. We know and can affect a lot, but it's not much in the context of infinity. When one reads my original post, one is reading my experience and frank trepidation because of all the variables. Yeah, i absolutely treat PDE5's as a vasodilator, and cite research how it affects other areas of the body than the penis and lungs in "normally healthy people." Not most, and they're generally safe for their intended use. No argument there. Are they a different class within vasodilators? Certainly, no argument. Does the risk for heart events/hypontension resulting from the combination vasodilation effect with other drugs (like poppers) become an important factor. Yes, which is what i have asserted from the start. Put another way, just taking poppers alone rarely results in a life threatening effect. Just taking PDE5's alone rarely result in a life results in a life threatening effect. The life threatening effect of putting them together is because of their vasodilation effect, not from a limp dick. We don't know that PDE5's suddenly start effecting the rest of the body because of adding, say nitrates, to the picture. We realize it because those effects become noticeable in a deleterious way. We do know PDE5's work by prolonging the effects of cGMP, which relaxes smooth muscle tissue. All of our vascular anatomy includes smooth muscle, smooth muscle, it's the part of the vasculature anatomy that causes vasodilation and constriction. i know of no research that demonstrates vasodilation/constriction apart from the smooth muscle encapsulating our veins and arteries. I.e., if the smooth muscle was removed, there wouldn't be a remaining 'tube' mechanism that affects BP significantly. cGMP is all over the body and PDE5's work by prolonging cGMP that causes vasodilation. A lot of these things are still being studied. i'm speculating here, but i can see a possible connection between combining PDE5's and nitrates because PDE5's prolong vasodilation, which typically ends pretty quickly with the effects from nitrates alone. idk. But yeah, i see it and focus on the vasodilation effects of both of those drugs because of what that can mean in terms of hypotension and mean arterial pressure that can result in organ death.

To me, you are doing a more than adequate job of communicating your point. i dispute is your correcting me for calling PDE5's a vasodilator. In that case, you are simply wrong. Your correction is incorrect. It all feels pretty silly and pedantic to me. Regardless of what you (or i) may "believe," the medical/pharmacological community does consider PDE5 inhibitors to be vasodilators (see evidence below). i'm not making this up, offering belief or opinion, nor am i interpreting. i am purposefully quoting and providing links to reliable sources. Here's one more source: The National Library of Medicine list of "Vasodilators." (their heading, not mine). They list 8 different kinds of "Vasodilators." Scroll down to number 8. If you still want to argue this, perhaps send your argument to The National Library of Medicine, they'd likely do a better job explaining their rationale for listing PDE5 as a vasodilator than i can. "1. Direct-acting vasodilators (hydralazine, minoxidil, nitrates, nitroprusside) 2. Calcium channel blockers (verapamil, diltiazem, nifedipine, amlodipine) 3. An antagonist of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (angiotensin receptor blockers, angiotensin-converting-enzyme inhibitors) 4. Beta-2 receptor agonist (salbutamol, terbutaline) 5. Postsynaptic alpha-1 receptor antagonist (prazosin, phenoxybenzamine, phentolamine) 6. Centrally acting alpha-2 receptor agonist (clonidine, α-methyldopa) 7. Endothelin receptor antagonist (bosentan, ambrisentan) 8. Phosphodiesterase inhibitors (sildenafil, tadalafil)" [think before following links] https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK554423/

Republicans vote to reduce Pete Buttigieg's salary to $1

"The Department of Transportation announced in February that it was reviewing Buttigieg’s use of FAA aircraft at the request of U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, a Florida Republican. It is also looking into the use of FAA planes by Elaine Chao, who was Transportation secretary during Donald Trump’s administration and is married to Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell. When the review was announced, Buttigieg had flown on FAA planes 18 times out of 138 flights for official trips since becoming secretary early in 2021, according to The Washington Post.He takes commercial flights most of the time, and when he uses FAA aircraft, it’s usually because it’s cheaper than commercial flights, a Department of Transportation spokeswoman said. The review will “put some of the false, outlandish, and cynical claims about the secretary’s mode of travel to rest,” spokeswoman Kerry Arndt told the Post. Transportation officials also said the total cost of Buttigieg’s flights on FAA planes up to that time was about $42,000. Chao took 15 FAA flights early in the Trump administration, and the cost of just one of them, which was international, was nearly $69,000, the Post reports. When Buttigieg, the first out gay Cabinet member confirmed by the Senate, received the award in Canada, he was representing the U.S. at the International Civil Aviation Organization General Assembly last year in Montreal. While he was there, Quebec LGBTQ+ organization Fondation Émergence presented him with the Laurent McCutcheon Award, which goes to someone who has contributed significantly to the advancement of LGBTQ+ rights. Laurent McCutcheon was the founding president of Fondation Émergence and the creator of the National Day Against Homophobia, now known as the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia." "House Republicans moved to reduce Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg’s salary to $1, as lawmakers debate spending bills ahead of the government funding deadline next week. The salary cut for Buttigieg was put forth by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) and adopted by voice vote as an amendment to the 2024 Transportation and Housing and Urban Development spending bill. “Pete Buttigieg doesn’t do his job. It’s all about fake photo ops and taxpayer-funded private jet trip to accept LGBTQ awards for him,” Greene posted on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter. “I’m happy my amendment passed, but he doesn’t deserve a single penny.” The underlying bill needs to be approved by the full House and is unlikely to be approved by the Senate." To hopefully remove confusion from some of the exchanges above. As indicated from evidence based sources cited above, poppers are vasodilators, so are ED meds. ED meds were accidentally discovered as a side effect. Meds like VIagra (PDE5 inhibitors) were originally being researched as anti angina meds (heart pain resulting from lack of blood flow to the heart). Research discovered that PDE5 inhibitors are vasodilators have a more specific effect on penis and lungs. The use of the word "specific" in medications can be misleading, it does not mean exclusive. In the medical field, we often end up using drugs developed for one purpose on a different medical issue because the 'side effect' of the drug can end up benefiting another disease process. The systems in our body are intricate and interconnected, thus my original post of this not being a "simple question with a black or white answer." This thread is about what's "safe," and whee this can be more of a black and white answer: Amyl and butyl nitrates (poppers) are vasodilators originally used medically as an anti angina med. ED meds, while having a more specific effect on the erectile function of the penis, are also a vasodilators. Using ED meds alone doesn't generally pose risk. Using them along with Poppers (or other nitrates some people with heart issues may be taking) results in a combination of vasodilators that can be dangerous. That's less common, but it's not unusual for the general gay population to be using ED drugs and poppers. "The effects of using amyl nitrite with other drugs – including over-the-counter or prescribed medications – can be unpredictable and dangerous. Amyl nitrite + Viagra or other erectile dysfunction medications: a high risk that the person will lose consciousness due to a sudden and extreme drop in blood pressure.12 This may require immediate medical attention . Amyl nitrite + amphetamines: increased strain on the heart, placing whole body under extra stress.12" [think before following links] https://adf.org.au/drug-facts/amyl-nitrite/

"The blood vessels in your body aren’t just tubes that stay the same size all the time. Blood vessels also contain muscle, and that muscle controls just how wide or narrow your blood vessels are at any given time. When blood vessels get wider, that’s vasodilation. The opposite process, when blood vessels constrict and get narrower, is called vasoconstriction." [think before following links] https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/diseases/23352-vasodilation

It's true that drugs like sildenafil cause vasodilation differently than amyl or butyl nitrite, but both are still vasodilators. "Sildenafil acts as a selective inhibitor of cycle GMP-specific phosphodiesterase type 5, resulting in smooth muscle relaxation, vasodilation, and enhanced penile erection. The vasodilating action of sildenafil affects both the arteries and the veins.5 Reported side effects in the normal healthy population are usually associated with vasodilation. These include headaches (16%), flushing (10%), rhinitis (4%), dizziness (2%), hypotension (<2%), and postural hypotension (<2%). Other side effects include dyspepsia (7%), blue-green color-tinged vision and blurred vision (3%), and an unexplained myalgia.3,4 Although their incidence is small, serious cardiovascular events including significant hypotension can occur in certain population at risk. Most at risk are individuals who are concurrently taking organic nitrates.4" [think before following links] https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3437061/

A lot of this resonates with my experience. i do think there are gay guys who want relationship (maybe all those gay romantic movies are written by women?. i get the impression they either have no clue about how to go about making that happen or they want someone to make it happen for them (which seems both those may be related to one another?). The truth is, i don't want something traditional or heteronormative. my idea of 'romance' (for lack of a better term) would not be restrictive for me or my partner (e.g., it might mean, but would not have to mean things like monogamy). It might not even involve living in the same house? i don't know that it's because "a lot of gay men are superficial and shallow...?" i don't know if those things apply to gay men any more than people in general? i may just need more gay friends.

Palm Springs sex vacation destination
tallslenderguy replied to Openmouthpolicy's topic in General Discussion
i go to PS a couple of times a year. i've read that >40% of the population there is gay, though i don't know where that figure comes from? i don't recall that question being on the census? i typically stay at All Worlds or CCBC, but have wondered as well if it's worth the cost? And restrictions. If you want to hook in your room with someone who is not a guest, All Worlds requires payment and last i tried at CCBC, you have to go to the front desk and sign them in. Doesn't work for walk in breeding. i;ve been approached by guys while walking on the sidewalk, so i have had similar thoughts about a Motel 6 arrangement. A lot cheaper, more freedom to do hook up sex. No 'play room' and they'd likely frown at nudity by the pool. -
As i see it, the crux of the problem is "these people" (i identify them as people with a fundamentalist mindset/approach to living) do not consider their views to be belief, but rather, "truth from God." Belief allows for space that one might be wrong. Fundamentalists know the truth. You cannot engage a fundamentalist in debate, because honest debate allows that one may be wrong. Fundamentalists cannot be wrong, to allow for that would be to call "God" wrong, and of course, "God" cannot be wrong. They do not make the connection that what they have is belief, they are truly convinced that what they have is revelation from "God." If you were to engage Mike Johnson in conversation about being gay, his eyes would likely glaze over as he went into self righteous mode of "love the sinner, hate the sin." It's really hard to fathom as an outsider looking in. Fundamentalism is mainstream cult that's been around so long it's just sort of accepted by outsiders who don't really understand what it is. Ayaan Hirsi Ali's autobiography "Infidel" is a profound read. She was raised in a fundamentalist Islamic culture. i was struck while reading her story of all the religious similarities between her religious culture and mine growing up. It's brainwashing, conditioning, social engineering, highly refined and deeply entrenched. If one is taught this stuff from childhood, removing the humanity by attributing notions to an invisible being that cannot be substantiated or held accountable, the result is fanatics that fly jets into sky scrappers or imprison gays, or subject them to "reparative therapy" to "cure" them (i've been through 'loving christian reparative therapy"). Another great read is Tara Wilkersons's "Educated." Another eye opener and an American version of "Infidel." As a little kid, i was hauled to church Sunday, Sunday night and Wednesday. i went to Christian camp every year for a week, Vacation Bible School in the summer. We'd sing songs about how evil we are. It was also very militaristic: "Onward Christian Soldiers" was sung almost every week. Oh, and there was "Jet Cadets." We'd sing: "zoom, zoom, zoom we are jet cadets for Jesus, we are pilots for our Lord..." i kid you not lmao.

Not a simple question and there is no black or white answer. Both marijuana and alcohol affect cognitive and motor function. The more you take, the more you mix, the greater the (presumably wanted) effects and (unwanted and deleterious) 'side' effects. Further complicated by the differences of potency and effects of different types of cannabis and different means of getting it into the body (e.g., smoking, eating), frequency, amounts... so many variables. Same with alcohol. Are we talking beer or tequila shots? Or everything in between. Again, type and quantity all factor in. Poppers (amyl or butyl nitrite) are vaso dilators (so are ED drugs like viagra). I.e., the sought after effect is the warm/sexy/fuzzy rush resulting from pretty much instant vasodilation. They were the original 'nitro' intervention for people having heart attacks. Biggest side effect is a drop in blood pressure (related to vaso dilation). Our organ systems (e.g., brain, heart, kidneys, gut, liver, etc..) require a particular ongoing mean arterial pressure (MAP >65) in order to function and stay alive. When someone comes into the hospital with sepsis, our first concern is not the pathogenic infection but the resulting drop in BP from the infection. That ongoing drop will cause organ system failure and death, and that can happen pretty fast if not addressed. Poppers are not sepsis though. Their effects are pretty instant, but only last ~2-5 minutes. But then, just like cannabis and alcohol, 'dosing' factors in. Big difference between taking a hit a 3 or 4 times while fucking and wearing a gas mask with a continuous feed or taking a hit every minute while the effects of the prior hits have not worn off. So, one can see the challenge to answering the question? i did a study search on mixing THC with Nitrites, didn't find any evidence based/study info. But THC and Nitrites affect different physiological components. Sort of like asking, is it safe to mix drinking/marijuana/poppers with using a chain saw, or turning on a faucet. You might get away with both without harm, or you might not.
