There used to be a time when your harness could indicate your preferred role - full harness indicating bottom and half-harness indicating top, but those days are pretty much over. @jizzdumpwi - that would be false. Last year there were hundreds of parties (and I attended many of them!). They DID have an issue the year before with Nasty Kink Pigs. Apparently they didn't like the fact that NKP advertised the parties on flyers and cards and distributed them around the hotel. They were aggressively stopping parties THAT year, but by last year it was back to business as usual (though NKP skipped this year, so who knows what will happen next year when they're back.)

@theplayerking - a lot of guys go without buying the package. One thing to remember is that the hotel is reserved for MAL attendees. I don't know if you can get a room at the host hotel without it (though I don't know either way). The events CAN be fun, but I find that I'm in the hallways, guest rooms, lobby and marketplace the majority of the time. I don't generally do the contest, but the victory party can be fun. Lots of guys will have tickets they aren't using so you can generally pick one up there. The NastyKinkPigs have a play party every night, which is incredible. Plus there are always room parties and open doors and the bars and sex venues are always packed that weekend - probably more so this coming year as it's also the inauguration.

There are no bookstores or anything like that downtown - they cleaned them all up a few years back, but I know there are a few Comic geeks that are also total pigs.
