Honestly for most people its awful. With that said, if you are on a fiber supplement like metamucial, which all bottoms should be on anyway, it tends to create a slick lube like substance, that can work once you get past the anal sphincter, its somewhat slick inside. With that said no lube sex highly increases the risk of contracting STD's, HCV, and HIV, so its really not a good idea, even for bare bottoms.

Agreed. In other news I just found out my great aunt quit! Well I say that because she now has dementia and is in assisted living that won't allow her to smoke. And I don't know if it her lack of memory or what but apparently she doesn't miss it. LOL.

I mean... really? why is this even a question. we all know the correct answer.

Has Tim Gone Too Far With A Cutting Scene?
wood replied to seaguy's topic in Bareback Porn Discussion
Exactly, its screams "Hey look at me!!!" which I guess is probably a valid concern for them now that so many studios are doing bareback, which once they were in the minority doing. For me I find it stupid and a turn off, and I doubt many people in real life would EVER do something like that unless they have a mental disorder. -
Just as the topic states. I put "don't know" in there, and would suggest that guys who haven't been tested in over a year answer "don't know" even if their last test was neg. You could also answer "don't know" for example if you feel like there is a strong chance you were recently infected, but haven't been tested yet. The other answers are self explanatory, but feel free to elaborate in a post if you want.

well the simple reality is that that time of "no danger" never existed. Guys in the 70's and early 80's caught all sorts of things including Hep B which was a 6 month recovery process at best. And even then there was still the numerous other STI's. Its hard to say how much of that was made worse by undiagnosed early HIV cases, but the point still stands that sex will always have risks. With that said I am not giving it up anytime soon.
-
Well from your previous statements I got the feeling you were going at least weekly, going every three months is no issue IMO. A healthy sex life is also one you really enjoy, and sometimes that's all the validation you need. Personally I wouldn't feel bad, and I would just keep on top of your health.
-
Well IMO you are partially incorrect on the baths issue. Even look on here about stories about people who go to the baths often. They almost brag about having tons of STI's and passing them on. In other settings, like having some FB's etc, IMO there is more communication about whats going on and potential things you should get checked out. IMO a lot of guys at the baths just don't care, and will pass anything they want on. Additionally as I mentioned before there is the drug culture at bathhouses that really just breeds all kinds of infections. As for your question can you manage other STI's, and really thats a loaded question (no pun intended) Before HIV people thought they could manage all the STI's and never have an issue, but HIV obviously changed all of that. Additionally STI's affect everyone in different ways. For some people its very hard to clear some infections whereas other people while constantly exposed never get sick or symptomatic A good example of this is HSV1 and HSV2 (herpes) Its estimated that many gay men have herpes, but not all get symptoms, while others get outbreaks often. Additionally you need to stay on top of things like HPV, and get anal pap smears. I just had one come back abnormal, which is somewhat expected, but it also means more tests. Personally I think you have to judge what you are willing to put up with. If you bareback you will get STI's, that's a given. What and how often are the only variables. Additionally every 6 months is way too long if you are going to the baths. You are likely carrying gonorrhea and chlamydia because especially if you exclusively bottom, they are very often asymptomatic. If you are being responsible about your sexual health a person barebacking who is HIV+ like yourself is probably going the doctor or should be a minimum of 5-6 times a year. More often if you have issues. No one can tell you what your situation is going to be like. I have a friend who is HIV+ undetectable that takes on average 10+ different dicks a week, but he almost never has issues, in contrast I know guys who have had 2 different guys in the course of three months pick up something each time. Everyone is different.
-
First off if you are having sex, as a gay man, you should be getting quarterly full panels of STI tests at a minimum, more so if you are having sex at bathhouses, or during times of "excessive participation" Should you worry about other STI's? possibly, but really you need to be taking care of your health in general. You should also be on meds for HIV. Without them, your immune system doesn't function as well, and you are much more likely to pick up lots of random bugs. HCV is an issue, and as a HIV+ guy, all the research suggests you are at higher risk for infection. The one sure thing you can do to somewhat lower your risk for HCV is to NEVER use drugs like meth, and never have sex with guys that use it. They have a much higher rate of infection than other groups, and are more likely to pass it on to you. Also avoid excessively rough sex, and always use plenty of lube.

Damn! thats a lot of ciggies!! With that said I guess in the 80's and 90's when people were dying of AIDS, cigarette smoking didnt really seem like a big deal. if you are going to die anyway, why not smoke. My aforementioned great aunt who is 92 and still smokes is kind of crazy. Her husband died over 30 years ago from lung cancer. At that point she knew she needed to do something, so she switched to filters. I did some quick math and estimated she has smoked about 1.1 million cigarettes in her lifetime.

Keep at it, and keep yourself really busy in the mean time. IIRC after 72 hours without nicotine, the physical part of the withdrawal is over, and its all mental after that. That doesn't make it necessarily easier, but at least its not a physical craving. Its also good that you are doing this on your own accord, and want to quit. I have a good friend who is 30, and really unhealthy. He smokes a pack a day, drinks a handle of liquor every three days, and had a diet that consists solely of processed foods. I tried intervening before with him, and it was no use. We didn't talk for about three years.
-
Keep at it!! Smoking is awful for you no matter how you slice it, but in people with HIV (or any other chronic condition) for that matter, the effects are amplified. Additionally the sooner you quit, the lower the risk of other possible health complications. Stay off it, and use the electronic ones if you need a fix. Even if smoking doesn't kill you, it almost always severely degrades your quality of life the older you get. I know quite a few smokers anywhere from their late 20's to their 90's (my great aunt still smokes a carton a week of marlboro reds at 92), and almost all of them have breathing issues or get cold's often etc. its just not worth it. If you don't do it for yourself, do it for you kids.

They did not run that, but as you stated almost everyone has HPV, I'm not worried, more so just curious if anyone else experienced this.
-
Thanks guys. I may do lots of things but I do try and take care of myself and get regular checkups. My doc said its fairly common to get an abnormal result back, and its only rarely an issue. But even if so, that's why preventative checks are so important. I'm also young and neg, so that also helps. My doctor said that he suspects that if more people got them, he would have many more abnormal results. However, few guys get them, as most just stick to HIV tests and maybe STI tests if there are symptoms. HPV is REALLY common and most gay men are fairly ignorant of it.

Do Your Ads/profiles On Non-Bb Sites Scream Bareback?
wood replied to makingwords's topic in General Discussion
bingo. In general I would say that they less posted in a profile the better. Leaving it mostly blank is just fine. -
Yeah I am hoping for more like 5 years, but i'm not holding my breath. Medication trials can a very long time. It would however be interesting if this would have additional ramifications for HIV+ people. If they would receive their medication via injection every 3 months that would be a huge help in keeping people on their medication and undetectable.
-
So I had my quarterly checkup about a week ago, and they did an anal pap smear. They said it came back abnormal, and they would need to schedule me for a exam, to essentially look in my ass. Considering the amount of sex I have had this past year its not exactly a surprise. I'm not worried about it, just curious if anyone else has had the same thing happen. My ass seems fine inside and out from what I can feel, and I haven't had any issues, so I tend to think it may just be a result of my "extracurricular" activities.

LOL, my views are hardly a moral high ground, if you think they are you better get a better grasp on the english language. Also your response is so incoherent that its hard to even decipher what you are talking about. While you may be "blessed and grateful" to be poz, the vast majority of people are not, which is why stealthing and purposely trying to lie/decisive/infect others is considers so heinous. Additionally you can think you are "healthier" all you want but poz not on meds people are rarely healthy, and the virus is doing damage to you. If you choose to ignore that its your prerogative. You have a "ignorance is bliss" mentality and sorry its not for me. Back to the case, you don't need to match a strain in many cases the law is based on exposure, not infection.

more so I am talking about situations where a person, usually younger is coerced into sex, even with simple language, like "its hot, breed me with your poz load" without realizing the ramifications. Hell it may be the first time they get fucked bare. Thats where people change their mind. At least in the US, any type of HIV transmission is a slippery legal slope, depending on your jurisdiction. Some can even penalize someone who used a condom, but didn't inform the other party.- 39 replies

Anyone Want To Help Moderate Breeding Zone?
wood replied to rawTOP's topic in Tips, Tricks, Rules & Help
Sure, Id be more than happy to, just let me know. -
Umm what are you talking about?? This has NOTHING to do with PrEP. Its a case of HIV+ people directly lying, and in one case resulting in transmission. Additionally if you notice the article make no mention of sexual position. You can call it "whining little bitches" all you want, but HIV transmission is a crime in many places, that's the law. Additionally if you are a "poz, not on meds vers guy" as your profile states, and you don't disclose or lie about your status to a partner, you are committing a crime in Pennsylvania and can be prosecuted as such. If you don't like the law that's fine, but it surely doesn't change it.

Wanting To Take First Pox Load
wood replied to versbottom's topic in HIV/AIDS & Sexual Health Issues
Ding Ding... With PrEP I never worry anymore, whereas before it was constantly on my mind. I also didn't bottom as much as I wanted to before because of the worry of infection. Now its open season. -

I'm glad you have a decent outlook on things. One thing however is that for many people a delayed reaction to the news is very real. Because you have had a decent idea for a while I doubt this will be you but it can happen. As for everything else, I STRONLY recommend going on treatment asap. Especially if you are having sex outside of you relationship. HIV criminalization is a real thing, and newly infected with a high viral load you could easily infect someone else, even if you are bottoming. I just posted this in another forum so it does happen. Additionally there are cases where people say they have been notified and later press charges so I wouldn't trust anyone who says they want to get pozzed. https://breeding.zone/topic/30652-yet-another-hiv-transmission-arrest/ Its also be proven to be the best course of action for newly infected people. Because you know how recently you were infected, immediate treatment may drastically reduce the amount of side effects later in life. Best of luck and take care of yourself.- 39 replies

http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/breaking/chi-man-charged-with-failing-to-reveal-he-had-hiv-to-partner-20141025-story.html I found this case to be interesting because it seems like it is only one persona against another one, whereas these cases usually involve several plaintiffs. Aditionally it happened in a major city that is fairly progressive on social issues, Not kansas, the south, etc. Sorry but again this is why i think stealthing in almost any real world circumstance is absolutely crazy. Even voluntary transmission with willing participants seem like a very slippery slope, especially if there isn't written proof. Its also a GREAT reason why anyone HIV+ should be on treatment. Guys who are undetectable are very safe, and unlikely to transmit anything. So that alone is a very plausible defense given current research TASP. Here's another story with different circumstances but also involving the prosecution of individuals. http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/ct-hiv-criminal-cases-met-20140905-story.html#page=1
