I hate to comment back to back, but this reminds me of these dude who hit me up on Sniffies. He messaged me, asked me for pics (and he had no pics) and basically said he was a tease then foolishly asked if I respect his honesty. Long rambling coming: The same thing that’s happening in straight society is happening in straight society: The entitled 7. Before you had average people, hooking up with average people, above average with above average, so on and so forth. Sometime you’ll get a cut above, but most guys had some self awareness. With social media, OnlyFans and the like and the like button, everyone is a star now. You have guys who would just be normal guys thinking they are a cut above because a bunch of thirsty men online. From who I’ve observed and who I talked to, A lot of these guys are from larger cities but they were not socially, sexually, or economically viable. If you are a 5, 6 or 7 in LA, NY, SF etc. you can’t really play those games because everything moves fast and there is too much competition. These guys moved to smaller cities and then think they are going to be the “elites.” I see this all the time where a guy won’t give you the time of day, yet move to another bigger city and try to connect. They always move back. And we are seeing the results of this mentality now, just like in straight society. These guys are buying their little box cars, their pets, and dying alone in their mid town condos in that eternal search for “worthy” men. I’ll say this last: I seen a guy in BBRT and his profile says he would not meet unless he had clear photos and video verification then only for coffee first. On BBRT! Now this guy wasn’t an ugly but he was average as hell. But he was young, not in a big city So he felt he had the clout to get away with that sort of foolishness. And he’s probably right because he put the ad up. That’s why I always say shoot your shot at the hot ones. If you don’t get it it’s OK but do not waste your time chasing above average guys. Just keep working and go for your target that you know that will fuck if that’s what you’re trying to do.

I’m putting this out there, just to see if I’m being too sensitive. Has anyone one else felt their doctor has given them a hard time just for being gay? Not saying discrimination, just making things more difficult. First my doctor is a woman. Around my same age. When I asked for Prep, her whole attitude changed when she asked about my “sexual activities.” Here’s some of the other BS I feel is Kind of unnecessary or being made more difficult: 1. Consistently have to remind her to refill my Prep every 30 days, even tho she can do it for every 90 days 2. Sometimes I ask for STD testing between the 90 days, and she will wait the full regulated time to schedule an appointment and make me come into the office for a visit instead of just scheduling the tests. Then I’ll have to explain what I did so she can determine “what tests are needed.” My previous doctor would respond immediately and just set up the test same day. Then she won’t schedule the test until all the labs are closed. 3. When I asked her about a certain medical shot she recommended I take, she very sternly responded “it’s because of your lifestyle.” 4. I have to get screened every 90 days for prep. I swear she will wait until the 88th day to set up a lab and I run around all day to make sure I get tested, refilled and cleared. Am I being a baby? Probably, but I am also comparing based with how I was treated by my two previous doctors. I know I should just change doctors, but I’m not 100% sure it is what I think it is. I swear this is a single, middle-aged woman who has contempt for me because she feels guys like me should be marrying gals like her. Maybe I’m nuts.

California is done, especially San Francisco. Older gays I talk to say the pigginess of the 90s is gone, and you can really blame Gen X and the Millennialls. As far as being “gentrified,” San Fransisco has always been a somewhat segregated city. Except now, it is the techies pushing out the middle-class gays. These middle class gays are being forced to surrounding cities like Oakland, Sacramento and San Jose. What’s left is a city of high earners or homeless. You can’t walk along Market Street without some homeless guy blocking an ATM smelling of urine. How did gays start loosing their grip on SF? Just my opinion, this is the result of the gay community trying to be accepted by straight society. Instead of banning together trying to protect their neighborhoods, customs etc. (similar to Chinatown), they allowed clubs to be “inclusive” (infiltrated by straights) shunned bath house culture and spent less and less time networking and building communities and organizations with their gay brethren. And let’s not even discuss how they alienated instead of Allied with the black LGBT community with racist, elitist attitudes.

I hate my city with a passion. It’s like living in an old Midwest town. We get a lot of “transplants” from LA and the SF Area (ie. Guys who weren’t hot or smart enough to make it in the big city) and they bring that attitude here, with none of the looks or success to go with it. Not me gripping, we we actually voted the second most unattractive city in the US a few years ago.
