Worse than that, they lure you with the idea they might consider having sex if you hang out with them and provide them the drugs. I don't party so it is easy for me to avoid, so I'm speaking mostly second hand. -
The term is recent the problem of guys that won't fuck or get fucked was problem with or without the term. The other trend I dislike is the prevalence of cuddling as the preferred "sexual" activity in cities where "sides" make up the majority. Here in the PNW guys go to the bathhouses looking for cuddle buddies, even though there are events other places for nonsexual cuddling only.

I remember having the sexual time of my life, up to that point. I was fucking and getting fucked within 10 minutes of the 1st time I set foot in a gay bathhouse. I went back the next 2 nights in a row and have been a habituate of bathhouses in cities that have an active scene ever since. -
I started hooking up with guys in college in the late 1980's, and while it was almost exclusively safe sex back then, at least for me I was able to find a lot more ready to fuck piggish hookups. Some of that is geographical, where I live now has been a land of committed sides since long before that term existed, but I do think guys everywhere have become more reluctant to drop trou and fuck with a stranger. I was lucky enough to live places where there was and still seems to be quite a bit of fucking until 2007 and have continued to work all over North America since.

@nananaTrump's crazyness is definitely more effective, the problem I have and many other have is he is a confidence man, which is tends to be used to perpetrate criminal behavior. As such we do everything possible to avoid doing business with them, and consider it a moral obligation to dissuade others from being taken in by the confidence man's behavior. Trump did serious damage to pretty much every business partner he has ever done business with, his move from real estate to politics hasn't changed anything, the stakes are much higher, and even those that did not voluntarily enter into a business arrangement with him are going to suffer the consequences. @viking8x6the deranged behavior definitely comes into play as well, while I have never been completely on the same page with a political leader on every issue, I've also never been in the same place I am with Trump in that nearly every action he has taken is the polar opposite of what I either think we should do, or what is the best way to accomplish it with a minimal amount of damage.
