While I think that is true for bi and "straight" guys under 25, by the time they turn 30 almost all of the "straight" guys and probably a majority of the guys who admit to being bi turn total bottom with other men.

I don't know if the general public can just walk into the CC library anymore, or even if they could then since I was taking classes and would have had a student ID. The mid 1980's were a different time to say the very least. I would still recommend trying to find it in a library. There was understall action to be had at that CC, I was still a couple of years away from finding the courage to act on that knowledge.

At the very least, the "quality over quantity" guys tend to be less experienced and have even more inhibitions, which often means it will be a lousy fuck. I agree with @topblkmale to read "Tearoom Trade", that was one of the things I did before attempting it. I was also lucky enough to be a student at a University with several obviously very active tearooms, which made figuring it out fairly easy. If you aren't lucky enough to live near an active tearoom or their aren't any in your area, I can see where it would be difficult to figure out.

The trend toward oral only is something I have observed here in Portland too, and it gets even worse. While this area was never great for fucking in the time I've moved here, other than a brief period right after we started going out again after COVID, it has trended more and more asexual. I disagree, there are regions where what you say is true, but there doesn't tend to be much interest in group sex in those areas anyway. In cities that do have a lot of group sex, their are more functionally versatile guys and a lot more of those activities occur. The almost anywhere in the midwest or Denver/Colorado Springs would be closer for you. They are always good for me. To be fair, I'm no longer what would be considered young and hot, but can easily find the 10 to 15 guys to fuck me (not necessarily breed me) at sex clubs or orgies in Los Angeles in 2 or 3 hour period. However my experience is significantly more than half of those 10 to 15 guys are versatile and we wind up flip fucking. While there is some truth to the surplus of bottoms, a bigger issues is guys that either don't fuck in any position or don't really know how. Where I live now, probably 90% of the guys online list bottom on their profiles or say bottom when asked in person, but the real problem is they don't actually fuck or have given up. It doesn't happen to me when I travel or happen to me when I lived in other places, but I often wind up jacking off before or after leaving the sex club, because there are no one is willing, able and ready to take a quick fuck when I get ready to leave. I think this "market trend analysis" and the influence gay porn has on our tastes is a major contributor to the decline in casual gay sex. I've long observed that the porn playing in a gay sex venue has a huge influence on what guys do while they are there, I absolutely hate it when I'm in a club and they have suck, jack off or some fetish that doesn't involve fucking porn playing, because it puts a major damper on the sexual activities even in a city or venue that normal sees a lot of uninhibited fucking.
