    I definitely consider myself part of "the community". It will come as no surprise to some that I am quite active politically, attend local protests (there are many in the area, some numbering in the high hundreds of protesters, some numbering in mere dozens. I also belong to a gay political organization; we knock on doors, sign up new voters, send out "mailers", make phone calls, make decisions on which local candidates we will support - which are based on what the candidates (for local office) have to say when the come to address our group - and many do. It's not a burden, it's not a chore, but it is a duty for citizens that are politically "aware" to participate in some measure of activism, to the extent they can. That said, anyone that cares about politics, where the country is, where it's heading, should do what they can to participate in the process. Every citizen/prospective citizen/would-be citizen has a voice, and needs to use it now.

    Well said, tobetrained. First, welcome to BZ. Secondly, thanks for that well-developed response to the subject. While you may need "training" in certain arts, well-constructed, well-reasoned composition is obviously not one of them.

    Well, thanks for adding that concept. I hadn't considered that as an issue. What, in your estimation, would "can't" - in this context - apply to? Some disfigurement that would deter others? Something else?

    So that's the hook? There were plenty of potentially homeless "read undocumented immigrants" hanging out there? Thus, the Gestapo arrested not only the undocumented immigrants, but took the boys in for good measure? What goes around, eventually comes around.

    The concept of "money" is that it can be traded for whatever thing we happen to need. Thus, if a guy with something of value (oh, a place to live, for instance) wants something another guy has to offer (oh, maybe a hot raw hole to breed, for instance) commerce is ready and waiting. Cold, hard cash is only a contrivance we humans have invented to facilitate the transactions of our daily lives. "Cash" just makes it simpler, easier to "buy" what we need, The concept of trading X for Y remains unchanged. It's merely the vehicle - the method of payment - that comes into question. Trading housing for on-demand raw hole is not all that different than trading a dollar for a loaf of bread.

    There was also a national feeling in Germany that the Treaty of Versailles, ending the First World War, had fucked the German nation over royally - and there was some merit to that notion. Obviously, "the leader" (translated into English) worked that angle to the enth degree as well as fanning the flames of racism into a fiery hatred. Add in the thousands of SA hooligans (whose leader, Earnst Roehm, was a ravenous gay man) enforcing the dictates of "the leader", and presto: A once proud, liberal nation, foremost in advancing the liberal arts, the humanities so magnificently, became what it became. If it can happen there a century ago, it can happen anywhere.

    Let's all hope this latest update re: the ancient, endless animosity between the Palestinians and the Israelis will finally bring some measure of equity to the unfortunates, suffering starvation, nothing but ruins to eke out a bare existence in, and I'd even hold my tongue if U-No-Hoo actually does get credit for it. As Liza once sang ..."Maybe this time - for the first time ...."

    Well, not many people think that any politician these days is completely honest. That said, at least she's not as egregious as most. I don't think she's at all interested in running again (for President).

    Well said. I still enjoy Maher, sometimes, but I enjoy the show after his even more. It's "Have I Got News for You"; they have weekly guests, and insult everyone. Maher has become a bit dated, but it's still good for an occasional laugh. And, who wouldn't rather drift off with a smile, rather than all the angst? btw: I had my tv's fixed so they cannot even go to Fox (except on Sundays and Monday nights or Thursday nights, for NFL games)

    Of course it is that, however BZ is also a lot more than just another "gay sex site". It's also a website wherein guys can discuss all kinds of subjects; virtually any subject a guy can think of. I see you're a new member, and maybe you haven't had a chance to sort through all the topics being discussed.     I enjoy Maher. I find him good for a laugh, pointing out the foibles of the various pols. That's different from book reviews though. I know what I'm reading, and if I find it worthwhile, I'll finish the book without a really great comedian's input. Oil and water, as far as I'm concerned.

    Well, talk (or typing) is cheap - it's what a guy does that counts. If a guy needs raw cock, and wants to avoid something, he'll take the requisite steps to accomplish that.

    None of that alleged communication between Johnson and his kid was ever proven, more like swept under the rug by a big fat broom. As I recall, when questioned by a reporter, Johnson sort of laughed it off, with some allusion to his right/duty to parenting. That said, the whole thing got swept deep under a thick rug, but it is moderately interesting that the Speaker and an account with a gay cruising app has surfaced. This makes it "ball two", regarding the subject. I'll take it as just a rumor, until it isn't.
