"I'm hearing...."  sounds so much like another Trumpism "people are saying....".  Would you name your sources please?

No one at CDC has claimed vaccines protect perfectly.  They, the CDC, do tell us vaccines vastly improve outcomes and lower transmission.  They've been consistent on that.  Further, we have evidence of high profile people contracting covid after vaccinations who exhibit only mild illness.

I was caught off guard yesterday when receiving my monkeypox vaccine.  They checked my "record" and insisted I needed a hepatitis A shot.  I felt almost pressured to take the hepatitis shot, but after reading many  infected had traveled abroad, I was somewhat relieved.  I plan on going to two countries in late October that have very high Hep A rates.

But here is my question to Forum members, why were they so  insistent on getting my Medicaire number if these shots were supposed to be free?  I happened to be  with someone is privately insured, they didn't ask him for a copay or any of his private insurance information.

Because Medicare still gets billed for the shots. There's no cost to you but there is cost to the insurance, in your case, Medicare.

And you DO NOT WANT HEPATITIS of any kind. I had Hep A when I was in my 20s (in the late 80s) and it was the most thoroughly unpleasant illness I've ever been through (not even diverticulitis was that bad). I was sick for two weeks, basically all I did was drink water, sleep and pee.  There is no treatment.

Guys, if you haven't had the HepA (mostly transmitted via food) or HepB (through sex) vaccines, GET THEM NOW. you don't want either of these diseases.

After getting prostate cancer in 2019, I'm a huge proponent of diagnostic tests. Get the stupid colonoscopy, get the mammogram, get the PSA test, etc. Having a doctor who followed my PSA regularly meant that when it spiked it was early and easily treatable.

I caught Monkey Pox in Palm Springs it took me about 2 weeks to be fully clear of it.

I was born in 69, my parents don't talk to me, so not sure if I was vaccinated for small pox.

The dosage given out now is one-fifth of the ones given out years ago due to the rationing of the vaccine; hence, 'boosters' being required now that never were needed.

Again, it is a minor issue, but, if concerned, get your shot, but only the two needed as the disease is not as severe as smallpox.  If it were for smallpox, and you required the shots available now, you must get five of them.

Luckily, smallpox is no longer an issue.

A vaccinated person can still pass the Covid virus and infect another vaccinated person.

I am hearing the same is true with the MPX vax.

But it's FAR less likely and the outcomes are far less severe. Vaccines save lives and in the case of MPX they save people from a buttload of pain.

You are flat out wrong.

The number of required shots did not change when they went to 1/5th dose administered right under the skin rather than into the fat layer. A study showed that the two methods yielded the same immune response.

And  the 5 dose vaccine from 50 years ago was a completely different vaccine than what's currently being administered. In fact it's 2 generations removed from that vaccine. The vaccine from 50 years ago required 5 shots (over many years). The current vaccine requires 2 shots.

A vaccine is a layer of protection. A tool in the toolbox if you will. Another way of thinking about it- the police and military issue bullet proof vests to their members. And some still die from getting shot where the bullet breaches a weak spot or an area not as well protected. But the fact is, a lot of bullet proof vests have taken a bullet or bullets, and the wearer has had a hell of a bruise, or even the skin broken. But within a few days they were 100% again, and not 6 ft under.  Same thing a vaccine provides.

I’ve been wondering a bit about transmission and when somebody is actually contagious.

I can’t get the vaccine yet, so I’ve been looking through experiences and notes from the CDC and NHS, as well as various other health authorities.

There doesn’t seem to be any reliable information as to if you are able to transmit MP if you don’t have any lesions.  Unless you got it from a dark room or anon session, surely you’d notice lesions on somebody’s cock?  Has anybody had any experiences with someone who had no noticeable symptoms but turned out to be positive?

Anecdotally, I wrote Silver Steele, the porn star who showed the world the lesions he had all over his face, to thank him for being honest about the realities of the virus.  He is sure that he got it at a birthday party, not a sex party, where he did no more than kiss and make out with a couple of guys that day.  There were no men there with lesions on their faces.

One may not see lesions though.  They might be in hidden places; inside anus for example  Or just in a place not easily seen until it is too late.

Or they could look like something innocuous like a small pimple or ingrown hair.

NYC just opened for 2nd doses- Monday- thank god- so much bullshit waiting 10 weeks - its like we were forgotten -i guess most people went somewhere else but i'm just glad  i'm due and can let it take before i go to Berlin next month. I want to update my reporting on Lab.Oratory and Biohazard party during Hustlaball weekend. I got time now to let the vaccine do its thing.   I told my buddies to go schedule now....trick put in a zipcode near where you can go - the sites like Times Square don't always come up on first chance based on home zip.

Here in Ft. Lauderdale, apparently we're considered a "ground zero" location.  I got my second shot weeks ago (with an appointment - I don't think there are any "walk-in-get-the-shot" arrangements quite yet.  But, I stopped hunting for it once I got the initial shot (and appt for second shot) too.

The backrooms / fuckjoints are wide open again now.
