I have a buddy in this situation and it works for him and his long term partner... he lives with his husband and they have a great relationship, sharing lots of interests, finances, and traditional roles. Plus, he is in a 3-way relationship with another couple (while his hubby has a girlfriend on the side). This has been going on for years and seems to be that everyone is happy, healthy and productive. They rarely all connect as a larger group. For me a Triad type situation could work, but I wouldn't be happy to be sharing my husband emotionally with someone else unless it were mutual. -

I think rawcumhole has some excellent points. In my conversations with men, I don't think many of us are truly 'total bottoms' or 'total tops' for that matter -- while many ENJOY bottoming very much, I don't know a man who truly doesn't enjoy the feel of his cock inside a hot, warm mouth or arse -- it is more about the psychology of it and falling into roles and stereotype and owning them vs challenging them. I think it's largely mind over body -- do your mental work in advance, think about how much you desire the top inside you -- how good it feels to you and him and therefore the longer, the better. I think some people just have a natural inclination toward one position or another...maybe it's lack of confidence as a top or experience or simply genetics?
