I tend to travel quite a bit and when the stars align, I can coordinate my travels with a party like Cumunion. I've been able to hit a few* doing this including LA in early May. First, I don't get the area/neighborhood. I had just maybe 6-7 blocks away from the club but on the same street as the club. This was in an area without street lamps and a group of guys were walking down the sidewalk towards my car, about two car lengths prior to reaching mine, I heard loud shouting and commotion and a few thuds which I interpreted as someone just having gotten their ass kicked. So, I found another parking spot, but this time between the club location and the freeway on/off ramp and that was much better lit, and boy am I glad I parked instead of just heading back to my hotel or the Slammer or Zone. Without a doubt, this Cumunion had not only what I'd say was the largest overall numbers in terms of the hottest fucking fuckers but also the highest percentage of attendees who were so fucking hot (at least to me they were). Other points: The clothes check is how Stabr mentioned it except for what happens to your bag once you're done stripping. Their check system (at least when I was there) consisted of me finding a place for my own bag in this fairly small room (it's smaller than my 10x12 bedroom, I swear) where guys are changing, socializing, eating, and otherwise trouncing on all the bags in order to identify and find their bag. Don't get me wrong, no one was trying to be destructive or trample guys' stuff but a 200 lb guy who loses his balance among all the bags and accidentally steps down hard on a bag with jeans in it and your phone happens to be in the pocket of your jeans (I know, don't bring your phone in, but I didn't really feel comfy leaving it even hidden in my car either). To me, it was a mess and I had zero confidence that my bag would even be there at the end. They did have some system to try and verify so that you're not walking off with someone else's shit and I think Stabr mentions this, but the whole room is a shit show. Solution? Bring your own, easy to identify bag and arrive earlier than I did to stash said bag in a corner or behind furniture in the room. What I liked most about LA Cumunion after the sheer numbers of hot guys, was the true mix of the community that was there. Like I said, abundance of hot but definitely something to satisfy any interest or desired flavor. Personal note: I think guys** with physical disabilities pretty much get shafted (and not in the good way either) in the gay community, and every community for that matter (that is if I were to guess and make yet another sweeping generalization and include said generalization in this post). It pumped me up to see quite literally everyone there having some fun. Sure, maybe it wasn't one's first, second or even third choice with whom that guy wanted to have fun with, but to be so limited at such an expansive buffet of male meat, well, I just don't know what to say in response. So, HardOneLA, go forth and have fun and enjoy yourself, but please be sure to report back! *If memory serves, I've been to Cumunion in Philly, NYC (Paddles), DC, Atlanta, Orlando, Fort Lauderdale, SF, Berkley, Chicago, Toronto, Seattle AND Houston tomorrow night so long as my flight operates on schedule, and I can get my car, check into my motel room, shower and get to Club Houston before it ends. **I'm just using "guys" here for the purposes of this post and its audience. My view is not limited based on sex nor is it limited to physical disabilities. It's just that at a Cumunion-type scene, I either didn't notice or there weren't attendees who suffered from developmental disabilities or others.
