I chose "yes" in the poll, and I think that is the answer today. This is largely because of the existence of a pro bareback community online at sites like this one. I started barebacking in the early 90s. After having given up condoms for less than a year, I moved for work to a smaller community with much less of a gay scene. I went back to using condoms because the guys I was hooking up with wanted to use them. If I had been in touch with all the guys in the world who wanted to fuck bare, I would probably have kept looking for them. The internet has changed all that. I went back to barebacking a few years later (late 90s not sure exactly when), and I have never gone back since then. -

I don't know that it's a city phenomenon. I live in a small town in rural Louisiana. I have been involved in rubbered sex exactly once in the 10+ years since I started barebacking. The handful of times it has been discussed it has only been in the "oh you don't use them either thank god" kind of way. -
