    I had to have a large, painful hemorrhoid surgically removed 25 years ago. It took me 6 months to want to get fucked again and about 18 before I felt totally normal. I had to be really careful for another few years not to let myself get constipated because I would get a painful flare up from the scar if I did. Everything has been normal since then.

    I acknowledge PrEP is not a panacea, but it never claimed to be one. PrEP does not protect against heart disease, cancer, or the common cold, but it never claimed to do anything of those things either. I don't know about the rest of you, but the ID doctor who prescribes PrEP for me reminds me every time he sees me that it will not protect me from other diseases that condoms will. I went on PrEP because I knew I wasn't going to use condoms, and at least this keeps me from worrying about HIV. If you change nothing about your sexual habits when you add PrEP, you will be better protected than you were without it. If you stop using condoms BECAUSE you went on PrEP, of course, you are increasing your risk for STIs. I agree with what other have said though. This study was not designed in a way that allows you to compare comparable populations.

    Since I have been on PrEP, I no longer bother even asking about HIV status (not that I did much before). I think PrEP is going to lead to no one worrying about their partner's status because everyone can be responsible for their own. Other STIs were already on the rise because of barebacking. That happened long before anyone ever heard of PrEP. Most guys on this forum were taking bare cock all already; they just got on PrEP to prevent HIV.

    Your HIV status won't change. Taking PrEP keeps the virus from being able to establish a permanent foothold in your body. Undetectable POZ guys have a chronic infection that is suppressed by the drugs they take.

    hardix, expect some stomach upset for a few days. Experiment with what time of day you take it and whether or not you have food in your stomach. It works best for me taking it on an empty stomach at bedtime, but I have read reports of guys who do better taking it after their breakfast. So far there are a huge number of us taking it and only one documented case of it failing. That case was an absolute worse case scenario - the top had a strain that was resistant to both drugs in Truvada and had a high VL. It's definitely as good as if not better than a rubber for preventing infection.

    Honestly, I think the name of the short film is a lot of the problem.
