    I wouldn't spend a minute in a relationship that requires any kind of work. I don't "work in relationships" because in my opinion relationships have to work almost spontaneously.

    Next Thursday I will pay a visit to a clinic where they do all the tests at once and I will then inquire more about PrEP. As I said before, the last time I brought up the issue of PrEP I wasn't very clear. I never asked about the possibility of going on PrEP. I may ask this time.

    If you have someone that will be in charge then I would recommend a sauna, like the GI-Joe on a Saturday night, 10pm on.     I don't get a good reaction when I mention it during my routine STI tests. I don't insist because I'm not that keen myself about going on PrEP. I definitely do not want HIV in my body because I'm fully aware that being HIV+ would complicate my life. I've never heard of HIV making a guy's life easier. I say this so young guys reading this think more than twice before being the bottom in an anon gangbang. I know many guys glorify their HIV infection and feel proud about being poz. I would too but I would be one of those poz guys who makes it clear tha HIV is not a good thing. I have now slowed down with my sexual activity and I do have regular fuck buddies too.     I understand the benefits of PrEP but I see it as such an extreme measure. Sort of like me taking antibiotics so I won't catch Syphilis. As I said before my opinion would be different if I were young . Anonymous sex is for me the best kind of sex, the type of sex I never get tired of. Always a new situation, a new intereaction.

    It's important to understand that it will be a different "normal" and with time you will adjust to this new normal, but it will take time. It will never be the old normal which is what everybody going through profound life changes has to grieve. Let's face it, nobody can convince me that being HIV+ is better than being HIV-, no matter how hot the idea of stealthing, anon sex, and hiding HIV status may be. At the end of the day HIV is something to be taken serious that will inevitably complicate a person's life. I don't want to have to tell my dentist that I'm HIV+ or have to inform my doctor. But I know that if I were poz I would adjust and learn to deal with these issues. jtonic, you will eventually learn to be HIV+. Beware of the feelings of shame because those will destroy you.

    I was talking to the nurse who did my HIV test about PrEP and I don't think that it will be available in Canada any time soon. And in a way I agree because I don't know if I would put myself through PrEP, side effects etc. If I were younger, like so many of the newly poz young guys here, I may have considered PrEP. More sexual activity, more years ahead of me, etc. I'm still having anon sex and I know all you need is one contact, but never the amount of sex I had earlier.

    Today I went for an HIV test and the result was negative. I was nervous because a few weeks ago I spent a weekend in saunas in Montreal and the action had been hot. On my way to the test I was thinking of what would I feel if I tested poz? I would probably want to spend some time in the saunas and this time I wouldn't worry a bit. So, I tested negative and now what? Stay HIV negative by avoiding anon sex and bareback or go back to saunas and darkrooms? Not much point in testing then?

    It doesn't make sense to me to expect that one person will satisfy ALL my sexual needs. If you have a good relationship going concentrate on all the other aspects of the relationship and leave aside the sex. Unfortunately right now there's no way to have "Safe anon sex". So you have to find ways of satisfying your needs in "safer" ways or sometimes you may take some risks.
