Just my 2 cents... well, first personally I was diagnosed Aug 2008... most likely pozzed summer of 2007 on Fire Island.. Good point...When I do HIV counseling, I now quote the CDC in stating Undetectable = Untransmittable. I then add that the small prints adds.. "consistently" undetectable and also for an individual to consider the source. Meaning you KNOW the guy more than a casual 1 X hookup.

PrEP is close to 99% effective, taken daily, so unmedicated or not it's going to protect you. There have been 2 documented cases of guys who took it properly getting infected. The strain they were exposed to was resistant to both medications in Truvada. Its pretty rare. I think there are 40,000 + on PrEP

Just not true... I come across many guys on PrEP in my outreach work. Very Very few have any issues with taking it. It's been proven to be one of the best tolerasted and least side effect of any anti HIV drugs

Resistance does not occur in Truvada as PrEP. To develop resistance, the pathogen (in this case HIV) must be present. You are taking Truvada to protect from infection. You can go on and off without and worry of resistance.
